I think that depends on what you mean by "use".

I'm sure you'll be able to bypass the vbar gov same as you can today and just send a throttle signal. But you would lose all of the associated telemetry and integrated gain controls, etc. That's likely to be true with all ESC govs and not specific to Kontronik.

All speculation on my part. It may be answered already in the vstabi forum, but, I don't read German.

I'm sure you will be able to use the K gov just like hemp said, The Vbar isn't changing, the TX just has the ability to program it directly..

Losing the gain controls is a non issue, IMO, you don't need it with the K gov. I don't know about telemetry - I don't use it.

The Vstabi forum also has a lot of threads in English, but I don't spend much time there either.

Don't forget the $600 price for the 14sg includes a $150 receiver, software for planes/sailplanes, SBus, etc... If the new Vbar transmitter is more than $500-$600 then it will be a niche product. If they want it to be a big seller then it better be priced accordingly. I'm the perfect customer being I only fly heli's and only use Vbar but I would not pay more than $400-$500 for it. With all the people who complain about paying $40 for the Pro upgrade how many do you think would actually pay $600-$1000 for a transmitter dedicated to Vbar.

Good point...I will never understand people complaining about $40 for more features.

I also don't really see the need to control my Vbar from my TX, after it's setup the way I want it, I never touch it anyway...if I do want to tweak something, my phone works just fine.

I don't see a lot of demand for a TX dedicated to only Vbar either...they will definitely have to bring more to the table for me, and I am a "Vbar Fanboy", as we've been called.

I still like the TX, and like some of the other things about it, for $600 or less, I'm probably in.

@hemp

yes you can setup with a Kontronic Jive Governor. In fact, there is a 'wizard' to specifically help with Jive programming. If you add a phase sensor (I used a Hyperion) then you get the headspeed telemetry on the screen. You set the ESC output value to give the required headspeed for each bank (flight mode) and you can adjust your values and read headspeed in real-time :-).

You would think that if they were going to expect any more than $400 for it, they would have spent more time on the aesthetics. To me, it looks more an attempt at "affordable".

I think less is more...more better!

I love the simplistic modern look of the TX...way less confusing than a JR or Futaba.

But I'm a simpleton...I mean simplistic kind of guy.

Hmmm
Well I am intrigued with the more integrated setup, quick model switching and identification, the bi-directional communication opens up a fair degree for valuable telemetry info such as main pack status, rx pack status, actual head speed and various other valuable tools that would come integrated....

Fingers crossed it priced right! I wish Vbar would produce more videos showing more features, etc.. info to date has been rather "on the surface", I am sure once it hits the market ( if the price is right ) I personally would love to explore all the possibilities that this new TX/Rx system can offer...

Cheers
