I have a Pyro 800 48L Terminator and a Kosmik cool 160 on the way. I was planning on putting it on a Logo 700, but now have second thoughts. The options are limited for this motor set up. Logo 700/800 and Diabolo. Is there one that I am missing? What heli would you guys build? I wish there was a 800 size TDR.

I have a 3D heli, I don't understand why it doesn't do 3D

Email Jan at Henseleit and ask him about the options. I have seen 800 size TDR's.

Great minds think alike I have already done that. I see there are different size tail booms for the TDR but this might be to much power for a stretched 800. If there was a 8mm pinion that might work for a beast of a 700. I am hoping there might be something new on the drawing board that someone knows about.

I had that exact set up in my Logo 700 and it rocked!

You will be limited with the 8mm output shaft though.

I have the Pyro 750 in my TDR and it is tight with the frame braces from RMQ- which I highly recommend with the monster motor. I don't think the 800 would fit with that frame brace, but maybe with Jan's.

Honestly adding a ton of weight to the TDR is no fun. I put MKS X8 servos, Pyro 750 Competition and Cool Kosmik 200 and it is far from its intended weight range. If I swapped out the servos and went from 5000mAh to 4400mAh batteries it would be back where it needs to be.

Maybe the new Protos 800? Otherwise I would stick to the original plan with the Logo 700... the 800 is too big and heavy in my opinion to run on 12s, which I think is where you would be with that motor. You need 16s on the 800.

Are you married to German brands?

Did the motor come from a US dealer that could swap you for a 400KV?

Find some video of Tom Erik Rolfson flying his Raptor E820 from IRCHA 2013 and see what that does for you.

I am a big fan of the German stuff. I have only owned Logos and Minicopter and really like both. As far as the 700 size goes the Logo 700 is my favorite due to it having a very locked in predictable feel. I took a look at the video of the 820 and it does look very nice but I just sold my second E720 a few months ago. I was looking at the Diabolo 800 and Triabolo but peaks right up says the 800 is over kill on both and I think they are geared a little more for sport/mild 3D. I did find a new heli on peaks website. Any one else seen or head of this thing?

Looks pretty minimalistic and light to me. We will have to see how it gets reviewed. I just found this video mostly speed runs.
