I would be cautious about ordering from them They have had an advance payment from me for $2500 since Aug of last year with no shipment of the three align kits and many spare parts.They have not returned any emails since November, even though all my emails are showing up in their support website.My order is still showing as "in process" in their temporary siteAmex has just informed today that the charge may be too old to get credited back.I am hoping they own up to this and refund my money since they are apparently still in business.I have no illusions that they will ever supply my order as it was one of their 50% off sales and now they can't get the parts at that cost. |

got my money back Just thought I would update - amex let me know yesterday that they got my $2500 back.bummed I never got the product, but 9 mths was too long to wait.I have ordered from Cyber heli in HK in the past and never waited more than 30 days.I think Helikrafts 50% off sales were just loading up on customers advance payments and tying to cut a far below dealer cost on volume purchases.If any of the 50% off Align kit orders actually get delivered it will be when the kit's are replaced with a new version, causing Align to dump them. So by the time Helikraft ship's the kit, you could get a similar price from your local hobby shop without having your money tied up for 8 mths. |

Helikraft reply As I mentioned above, AMEX did get my money back thru 2checkout.I used Amex to pay thru Paypal. Paypal's only help was asking me if I wanted to cancel the charge back, so I was definitely unimpressed.Helikraft eventually responded to my help emails with the following note - which came after my refund.Hi,We apologise for the delay in replying to you as our website was hacked by criminals in mid Feb and the database and most of website is destroyed and a new one is being built. Options Given HK told me to request a refund thru 2checkout, I would suggest you request refund thru PayPal who will then go get it from 2checkout.Hopefully u used your cc as source of funds for paypal like I did. They are obviously still in business so u have a chance.I don't know of any USA lawyers that could help go after a company in hong kong or Taiwan however |

Action Required to hold Helikraft responsible I have spoken again with PayPal who were sympathetic despite the claims being over 45 days old - Helikraft were quite clever is making sure they kept promising delivery until the claim were over 45 days old!They have the power to ban Helikraft from using PayPal but need evidence of the scale of the fraudPlease lodge a report to PayPal who will assess the scale of the fraud and take appropriate actionThe more people who do this - the more chance we all have of retrieving our moneyJeff |

PayPal support For future reference , always use a credit card as source of funds when paying thru PayPal. When I submitted my claim thru Amex, all PayPal did was try and get me to withdraw my claim.Amex got my $2500 back from helikraft and their 2 checkout merchant pay system with no help from PayPal. They did say it might be an issue due to being over 120 days old, but helikraft and 2checkout refunded them.PayPal and eBay are no longer as effective for either buyer or seller as they used to be.I never do any PayPal transactions from my bank. I always paypal thru a cc for safety, plus I get 1% back at year end for Amex, or FF miles if on my visa.I know it doesn't help for those of you caught up in this, but lean on PayPal to go after 2Checkout, as they refunded my money.Plus helikraft even told me via email they lost all orders and to request refund thru 2checkout.Don't let PayPal bs you that they can't get it back. |

PayPal dont believe that Helikraft is a scam .... Just spent a long time with a PayPal supervisor who said (many times over!) that once the 45 day period has expired there is nothing they can do - so the first lesson is don't wait irrespective of the stories you are told!Second lesson - use your Credit Card rather than PayPal - it seems like it provides more time if you have a problem with deliveryWhen I asked why they still allow HeliKraft to offer PayPal as an option, the supervisor said that their fraud investigation area considers them to be OK - just because they scammed me (and many others!) doesnt imply they are not safe to transact with - its my word against theirs that I did not receive the items .......As its time to move on and cut my losses - remember the old saying - if it seems too good to be true - it usually is! 50% off sale was never going to be a viable way to do businessJeff |
