So I am building a 450 FBL clone heli. I want to us Corona DS 929 MG servos on the cyclics. I can not find any info on what frequency they are capable of. I did find that they have a deadband of 3 us. Does this have any correlation to frequency?

Thanks!

Most digitals will accept choices in the 200-300 Hz range, but I cannot say for sure for those servos. What are the choices of drving frequency offered by your FBL controller?

Hey thanks for responding DR Ben. I am planning on using one of the Beast clones that goes up to 200hz. The Corona's are not very expensive servos, and I would hate to crash because I overdrive them. I could swear I was reading a post by Jkos once and he converted deadband to frequency, but I could be dreaming.

I don't remember deadband to frequency... But I've said before and I'll say it again... I believe there is no evidence that upping the cyclic servo frequency actually makes any difference.

Thanks John. I would think higher frequency on the cyclics would correspond to a more "locked in" feel. However, I guess there is enough mass, and gyroscopic forces in the disk to overcome the gains of the higher frequency. Kinda like a fast servo on the gov of a nitro. I will just run it at 50hz. Thanks again!
