If you have to have direct to swash linkage, I would recommend brushless servos. The wire baskets of coreless servo motors are subject to vibration destruction as first noticed on the XCell elevator. You might consider mounting the servos with grommets but this is very heretical.

The other thing design-wise that direct link cannot allow (and which arguably is a bigger reason that a purest might choose one design over another) is a linear stick input>collective and cyclic pitch output across the ENTIRE collective range. If you take for example a TT E700 and put a pitch gauge on the blade, there is pretty much a dead linear relationship bewtween the amount of collective stick movemement and resulting collective pitch change up to and perhaps even exceeding 12 degrees.
Not sure I can agree with that. It doesn't matter how many bellcranks get added to the control linkage train. There is always a nonlinear relationship of the rotating servo arm and the input to the swash. Modern, higher-end radios have a feature to take most or all of the sinusoidal motion out of the stick position to tangential servo travel, but the physics (trigonometry) are what they are.

The linkage weak points (flexible rods), connection slop and additional vibration absorbing plastic link ends of a non-direct system definitely take some vibration impulse and crash impact load away from the servo though.

This is a good discussion but it needs it's own thread. Please start a new thread on the subject of DFC.

Blaming Government for bad manufacturing is just as bad as blaming the tea kettle for not boiling the water property
when the fire is responsible,

"See what this mean? When you're into manufacturing you have to know when and how to push products readiness and if you're
up against others in your field of technology then you gonna
have to be creative to be competitive, and your pricing have to be inline a little below market value with other competitors.

"If a company can sustained all the value then they won't be
going under anytime soon.
maybe all these new HELI manufacturer need to go to Align and
get a BA in RC manufacturing, this might help them in the future.

I am sure Align will show them why Align manage to stay competitive while keeping price down.

I was waiting on some honey but there aren't no Queen bee,

MA GOING UNDER WAS THE THREAD TOPIC AND ALL OPINIONS NOTED
I fight with myself all the time, I hate what is happening in America, seeing the corporate monsters killing the little mom n pop stores, but I still catch my self going to a drive thru instead of a diner, or going to Wal-Mart for my necessity stock up. Sadly I can't always afford to support the small buisness and still have money for rc helis and planes.
My 87 year old father went into the Navy and served his country in the south Pacific while he was still a high school student- it tears his heart out that no matter were we go for food, hardware, cloths, ,,it's hard to buy American even if you want to, my wife is alway telling me "its made in the USA" when in fact it says "designed in the USA"
MA goin under sucks, there family and it just sucks
But cry all you want if your in the rc hobby and we all are. ..your buying 99% of your stuff from China, Japan, Thailand etc
and 1% USA ! Ticks me off and I feel like crap about it but if I wana fly little helicopters with my bud's, that just the way it is.

MA goin out
As we all bang away on our laptops, cell phones, tablets er whatever ,stop and think for just a second. .. were is that device made?
That nice flat screen on the wall?
Your new shoes that you wear to the field, your watch? Ya just can't get around it, maybe a little, if Ya try, but it's not easy that's for sure
Let's all agree to support local buisness at least once a week if we're not already? Can we do that? Meet your flying buddies at the the local mom n pops joint for breakfast or lunch? ?

America is down to cooking and eating.
That's what the rest of the world is going to do to us.
The producers will rule the roost. That isn't us anymore.
This has happened in my lifetime.
Sad to see it go.

And it will continue to happen, Wayne.
Until enough Americans get hungry enough to work for the wage that the Chinese do.

We, as a whole, are way to spoiled and lazy for that.
