Anyone know if Align or anyone else still makes a non DFC head or flybarless head for the 550? SAB converted and many others back to a flybarless head and got rid of DFC. I don't want the upkeep of a DFC from what I have read to replace the dampners after every 50 flights etc... Any thoughts>????

I like the RJX and Outrage both can be found at Helidirect. I prefer the outrage but have run them both

You can still buy the regular Align flybarless head conversion for the 550 /600.

Thanks a lot guys for your help. My new 550 DFC Non PRO will arrive this week and I may just sell the dfc head on eBay and put on the fbls head .

Does anyone know if you buy the regular (non-dfc) Align flybarless head conversion for the 600 can you still use the dfc mainshaft or do you also need to buy one of the pre-dcf ones? Thanks.

You will need the FL main shaft, and the 700 FL linkage set.

The mainshaft is different for the EFL head from the DFC head.

Another option is to get the KDE headblock and put on the Align EFL components such as the followers. The KDE headblock is nice.

They are showing it out of stock but if you look around you may be able to find one - or call them.

You have to get a different swashplate too to go from DFC to FBL.

Does anyone have a pic of their 550 DFC converted to a FBL head? Wondering how much higher the mainshaft makes the FBL head. I wonder if it looks strange. DFC on the 550 does look nice though as it does sit rather low.
