I'm hoping that some of you guys can give me a little bit of clarification. I have always wanted to try the Thunder Tiger Raptor series but have never had one of these heli's. I was looking around on the net the other day and found the "Raptor 50s" "Receiver ready" version on the Tower website. Long story short, I ordered one.

Now I have been out of the hobby for quite a while, but have gotten back in hot and heavy. Been working on finishing a Radikal g20 also; anyways, on to my question.

I don't understand the history of the Raptor, but is the "50s" an old style raptor that is being discontinued or a newer style? Or is it just a basic version? I confused because I don't see a lot about the "Raptor 50 Sport" on the net. The long and the short of it is I was hoping that parts availability will be good for a while.

Also, one other question are all of the raptor 50 parts interchangeable, ie Titan, SE, etc etc? Any input much appreciated.
Thanks,
Brian

Seems like it's a "back-to-basics" version of the "old" R50, whereas the SE versions are "high end" offerings of the same basic airframe.

Yes- all of the Raptor 50v2, SE, and many of the Raptor 30 parts will bolt right on. I own this machine and absolutely looove it. It was my first 'real' rc heli a few years ago. Fly it and enjoy it- it will take you however far you want to go. When you're ready to step up to a 'bling machine' grab the x50 and keep her in reserve for when u need a backup heli.

Also- I haven't read/heard of any plans of it being discontinued. Parts for our Raptors are in abundance at many hobby suppliers and should be for years to come.
