That hurts just to look at.
Ouch... too much information. sorry to see that.

My single crash last year was minor. I will try harder this year.

That Goblin makes me sick to look at...Probably $3000 blunder.

Was the crazy head speed what made the ESC over current and shut down or was it the single satellite hidden under the belly what caused a reboot?...Who knows? I have to think it was avoidable either way.
That was an impressive amount of soil buried into the airframe.
I actually had to use both hands to pull it out of the ground.lol...
The carnage was about a 15 foot stripe from where it was disintegrating on contact with the ground.

The tail drive was stuck in the ground and then pieces trailed after that until the main frame was stuck in the ground and then a few more feet of neon yellow and green exploded beyond that point.

It was really spectacular to see

The ESC did not shutdown or malfuntion, the full video https://rc.runryder.com/p6221745/ show the guy say (in Spanish) only one satellite of the spek system was working,
and he proceded to fly...

When the heli got some distance, it got a signal fadeout and the RX went into fail safe, and back on.

No ESC will reset on its own after an over current.

poor chap who lost it,

Watch at YouTube

upon careful review of moment of impact the Goby appeared to bridge 2 wires while descending inverted, that's why a blade is but a charred root on the heli. The heli had regained rx link before it hit as you can make out the rpm increase after faltering, yes?

I wish my screen grab could snap the touch without heavy pixelation, and show all a still, (I tried, it can be done with pro vid editing). Nice screen grab whomever got that.

McKrakin, you know those satellites are dipole, only the right antenna is active. That gives the average two antenna rx a third axis when used, I think this fact is widely over looked. If and when I find more info it'll be posted. I would NEVER run a single sat off the gyro knowing this. The Ar7200BX is good because it has replaceable length antenna and a port for a sat. If it had 2 ports it would be even more desirable. Better yet an rx with 4 antenna run out to 4 points on a bird, (ahh but there's impedence with long antenna wires isn't there)

back to the lack of heli carnage.

well thats outstanding!
well being able to speak spanish I can tell you that the pilot was well over his head and he ignored the spotters recomendation to bring it back, hit TH...especially after he said the heli shut off, then came back on...so the ESC was fine (and probably due to a failsafe like already mentioned) after the crash, loosly translated was mother %^&*9, and mother this and mother that ...you know the same crap we say when we know that the damage exceeds our current credit limit...

As for McK crash...holy smokes...surprized that FAA investigators were not called in on that one.

No, the smoke is hardly visible, and the video is only 480dpi, not 720dpi as I said.

Here is another candidate, although no much carnage, but it must be the hardest hit of the year:

I'm taking claim to the worst crash.

Kyle was barely doing about 109 on that swan dive, Stephan was doing 172mph.
Concrete does add serious wow factor, and that pogo, I mean logo bounce was spectacular.
Never seen that much air after a hit.
