So, have been wanting to do this for some time, but never got around to it. Absolutely nothing is wrong with my 700 E convertion, I am just tired of dealing with this many lipo's and I really don't have the time to charge them anymore. Plus, I don't like having this many lipo's in my house, safety issue.

I have had a nitro before, and was busted for flying at a park at 5ish in the morning because of the smoke from the pipe. Add that and the cost of Nitro and increased flight times with a gasser, just makes sense to me. I also do not do 3D, but it would appear that really isn't a factor these days with gas motors.

I know there are a couple of coversion kits out there...Century and Helibug are the two I have been looking at. It's a shame I can't use the CF frame I have, but guess that is the cost of conversion.

So, I have read reviews of the two mentioned, which would you prefer? I think they are both very complete kits. I am leaning towards the century one, because of parts availability, but in hindsight, that really isn't a issue any longer due to low shipping cost's and the speed in receiving them.

Also, I have been researching motors. It would seem that Coleman fuel is the preferred fuel to use, but again, depends on who's post you are reading.

What motors would you recommend? This is one of the pieces of the puzzle I am having most difficulty with.

OK, will stop there for now. Any help would be great. I will continue to read as I don't dive into something like this without weighing all of my options to start with.

The heart of a gasser is the drivetrain. The clutch must withstand strong power pulses.

The HWC and Helixheli have clutches capable of holding up in a gasser.

http://www.helixheli.com/

You can choose from Toxic, Hanson, HWC or stock engines.
The RC format is the newest design Zenoah engine and has integrated cooling. Call the first three and discuss what you are trying to do then make your own decision so you pick the right one for your setup. Toxic and Hanson are modified in the USA so they are available for technical discussions/questions.

It is made in three cc's, all the same engine case
G240RC
G270RC
G290RC

The G270 is the sweetheart of the bunch, it will rev higher than the G290 and is smoother. There is lots of info on these engines, so ask if you have a specific question on them.

The HWC air frames use the Zenoah PUH format. They are working on a RC format air frame, but I do not see it available on the web site yet.

If the odor of gas is not an issue, that is the cheapest way to go. If the odor is an issue, Coleman is a direct replacement and smells good

This maybe late... I converted mine to gas, using the HelixHeli conversion kit in carbon fiber (vs. G10). I bought the Hanson RC300 3D Max motor with the Century V2 pipe. It fly a lot like my Whiplash gasser and is extremely powerful!

The Hanson motor was dyno'ed at 6 HP! And each flight on the stock Trex700N tank will last 20 minutes!!! I'm very happy with it. You can read & see pics of what I did and used here on Runryder...https://rc.runryder.com/t762842p1/

Just curious.....what type of flying will you be doing?

And.....You will probably need to use some of the 700 Nitro parts for the conversion if you still have them.

Finally.....Welcome to the gasser community.....!
