I just read about this in the paper today - page 3 of the freaking "Sports Section".
The greatest driver in the history of any motor sports is facing a life threatening injury and it is buried in the Sports section on page 3.

I certainly hope he pulls through

The irony.

Been a Schumacher fan since before his time at Benetton.

It is amazing that he skirted death at 300kph for 20 years and then to finally retire only to find death's doorstep on a ski slope.

You still have so much to give to the racing community Michael. We will be praying for you!

According to an NPR report this morning, Michael has undergone a second surgery to relieve inter cranial pressure. While there are conflicting reports on progress, he has made progress. The NPR report noted "surprising progress". His doctors say there is no prognosis at this time.

My prayers are with Michael and his family. Open the gap, Michael!

Page 2 of the Sports sections today - I guess if the news is grimmer than the day before, they move it up a page.

It said he was in an "induced coma".

He is in an induced coma--they also lowered his body temperature from 98.6 to around 93-95 degrees.

It is sad that this doesn't get more coverage in the United States. I keep scouring news feeds to get more information on his condition. In my opinion, of all racing drivers, he is the greatest.

The waiting for news on Michael kind of reminds me of Richard Hammonds crash. Of course Richard has recovered well so there is reason to believe Michael can do the same.
