Welp, I have run into an issue I am not sure how to solve. My original plan was to use an old Trex 600N and convert it to electric and retain the clutch. I purchased this Great Planes prop adapter...
but the issue I am having is that when I tighten up the prop adapter onto the Hyperion motor shaft via the set screw, there is just enough play between the prop adapter and the motor shaft that it will not tighten true to the motor shaft and by then time I add the clutch hub and bolt the big 'ole heavy clutch on, I end up with an unacceptable amount of run-out at the clutch. The run-out will not allow me to properly center the clutch in the clutch bell and it is causing very high vibration levels when I spin the motor up. I am not sure how to correct this.
Would a collet style adapter be better?
Thanks in advance!
