You can get away with using a heading hold gyro as long as you don't couple it with a high-speed servo. Doing so causes the drive wire to wind and unwind like a spring as the tail responds to yaw movements. This not only causes weird tail behavior, but it can lead to failure of the drive shaft.

A slower analog servo will do well, and you may have to tweak the DELAY setting to eliminate over/undershoot when the tail is coming to a stop.

Greenboot's advice is incorrect.

For instance, this is taken from the Futaba GY520 manual:
• The GY520 must be used with a rigid tail rotor drive system. Any modern torque tube or belt drive system should be adequate. Do not attempt to fly the GY520 using a wire driven tail rotor system.

I think the first Kyosho Concept came out with a thin 1.5mm drive wire. They later upgraded to a 2mm drive wire. Maybe the 1.5mm are more prone to wind and unwind like a spring.Speed of light is greater than speed of sound. Some people seem very bright until U hear them speak

If your using a 240 it's your only choice, but used one myself and worked out fine.
