T-Rex 150 Problems
Just received my new T-Rex 150 bound it to Spektrum DX9 two green lights on board then nothing no servo operating no speed controllers nothing. Looks like a poor connection on main board as it comes to life sometimes and not others. Looks like Align quality issues plague them once again with a new product, do they never learn?

Have you tried wiggling the remote rx wire to see if that effects the connection? I have had a few Spektrum remote RX wires go bad over the years and cause intermediate cut outs when the wire was moved around. Replacing the remote rx wire solved my issue each time.

This may not be the problem at all, but it might be worth checking.

Thanks for the information have tried a couple of satellites with different wires all bound properly. I reckon on there being a problem on the board as I have managed to get it to operate the servos once when the board was lightly pressed.

Know what the definition of insanity is? Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. If you bought a first edition of Align anything after their first few releases of previous models and expected it to be right and quality, then maybe you best have a look at a funny farm, lol just kidding sorry to hear of the trouble. 3 year olds just don't solder like they used to, darn economy.

Micros are small and cheap..A few will have problems...Thousands won't.

Unless you are a customer with first hand experience that could be helpful...wait...what is your contribution anyway?

If you don't want to take a chance on some problems...Stay away from the micros....Anyone that thinks they should all be perfect needs to see about a funny farm.

To the OP...Return it. They'll give you a new one.

LMAO.

Quite true. My 130X came with a bent motor shaft and thus wobbled like hell. It still flew fine though...

Never bothered returning it.

I'm not going to openly run down any company on their micros here, BUT I've bought plenty of "Non-Align" micros....and my bet is from my experience WITH Align helis, that they would have far less problems, than some of those who have repeatedly produced different models of micro helis that always have numerous problems.

It's odd that you can take something that someone said to a person, turn it around and say it to them and they suddenly think it's offensive...That is NOT my intention.

What I would really like to know is how are you liking YOUR Trex 150...What problems are YOU having with YOUR 150?

I'm betting you don't have one...Never have and never will.
I'm also betting you've decided they're junk because you read somewhere on the internet that a few were having problems...Even though there are thousands of them NOT having problems.

Everyone wants perfection out of these micros but I would bet the farm no one is willing to pay for it.

Every heli could be made perfect and could be tested and tuned to be perfect when it ships.
That kind of attention requires highly skilled people to devote personal attention to every heli...That costs tons of money.
Not just anyone could do it...It would have to be a skilled 3D pilot and something of an engineer.

So what we're talking about is limiting the sale of them to maybe two or three a week and at a price in the four digit range.

They are mass produced...We're lucky if every hundredth heli is picked up and quickly looked at.
The parts are tiny and electronics are tiny and complicated.
A few will have issues and slip through the cracks...It's annoying if it's yours but not really unexpected...Someone always gets a bad one.
I literally never use the word literally right.

I have been reading the treads on the forums and the consensus is that the tail motor and housing are a bit of an issue, swashes seem to be coming apart, and servo wire will get cut in a crash. I don’t think these are major issues. Align just needs make a connection near by so the tail motor can be removed easily, improved tail motor hosing. In terms of swash I am sure as I type this someone is already manufacturing a full CNC swash that will be available soon, and lastly the wire cutting issue just needs a bit of detail floss to tuck the wires in nice and tight.

However with all the minor issues it seems to fly really well according to the owners who have it in hand and that IS good news. I would not touch another Blade 130X or MCPX BL for FREE I dislike them both, 130X (had 2 of them) is a money pit and the MCPX BL (had 2 of them) is inconsistent.

+1.

How many of these do you think Align are making? Do you think every single one is going to work with zero issues especially on the first batch??

This happens all the time and its not Aligns fault its simply a matter of the numbers made and % of faulty components.

Heres some more high volume sales items:

CC ESC's
Align servos
Eflight/Blade helis

Are all the above 100% fault free??.... Get my point?
60% of the time, it works every time!

So I can assume that this is not a common problem by the lack of any constructive feedback. Cheers

It's actually the first I've ever heard of for that issue.

I'd just return it for a new one.

trex 150
i got mine in the first batch i actually had it before most. and mine was perfect out of the box bound right up and flew pretty good with maual settings. I did change a few things roll rate dr expo stuff like that. to accomadate my flying style. I did run it into a tree doing a hurricane. the broken pieces was canopy cracked landing gear back insert broke off a ball popped out of the swashplate.and the black wire to the tail motor connecter broke off at the pin. Everything was fixed and flies just as good. I know everyones gonna have diffrent experiances but mine so far has been great. I love the power and how this flips and rolls like a bigger heli. my tail was a little slow on half piros so I did increase my tail travel adjust to 107.I noticed to that align is making changes to the motor case so it seems as if they are willing to work with the customers to try and make this an ever better heli.

Trex150 I picked one up from my LHS and had it for less then 24 hours. Micro helis are not for me. (nothing against Align, I have 3 Align models) But someone mentioned that their canopy was cracked out of the box, our shop had two and both were cracked underneath in the same spot. just saying...Gravity's a bitch ant it?
