What did you do with your TDR today? ... v2.0
Let's start another 'what did you do with your TDR today' thread where everyone is free to participate!

Today:

1) I finally picked up a 'proper' arbor press. I have been using my drill press, which works fine, but seeing how I will be replacing every single bearing in the TDR, I thought I would the purpose built tool. Of course when you buy these things they are coated with grease that seems like it has aged into a nice honey consistency. I spent a few hours thoroughly cleaning it, then re-greasing it, putting a light coat of protective oil on the non-painted surfaces and even spruced it up with a bit of personalization and paint. OCD

2) I also received these little jewels for the TDR!!!

MKS X8 servos. This is what the optional 'medium' aluminum arm look like with the TDR 'dome' M3 screw...

Yeah, great idea......

Crap! those servos are bea-u-ti-ful!!!

I just finished doing the final mounting and wiring of my JRs though,
so I'm not changing them now.

Today, I got a new Fusuno canopy and some bling from Rob McQuillen (X-brace and motor mount) in the mail.

I got the brace installed, but had to quit...we're going to a Christmas party tonight.

Had a few good days here and got some much needed flying in!

Very rusty, but it feels good to wiggle the sticks.

I did finally get my TDR Speed (slim) canopy on the way along with some bits needed to finish the build.

Hoping to have this up and going for the first of the year flight! (in other words I hope there are no hang ups in customs from Germany!!!)

Those servos look like they could snap your finger off!

I don't have a TDR, but I did shovel the driveway today. Was really hoping to get some flying over the holidays, but not sure the weather is going to cooperate.

If my count is correct you now have 3 TDR's?

I'm telling my wife I need another, and an SFR2 fuse.

Wrongler, RJ on here and HF builds and sells them. Very nice fuse/fiberglass work!

I think I need another TDR, but will probably hold out for the new Henseleit speed machine.

I'm not really sure what changes he can make for a speed machine, But I would think that any and all of the past TDR's could be upgraded.Bill Whittaker

It is a completely new machine with a full fuse. What I was told at IRCHA by Ollie was that it has a lot of completely new and unique design features and would be like nothing we have seen before. He suggested that I would be very impressed when I saw the final design.I did ask Jan if the tail was at something besides a 90 degree angle to the main shaft since I was curious about the "for speed only" comment. He said it was still at 90 degrees. I believe the main reason for "speed only" may be because the full fuse has a lot of drag for piro manuevers.I would "guess" that might mean that the tail section is part of the fuse and structural for weight and not just something that wraps around a boom, but that is just a guess.I'm looking forward to seeing the big reveal. I'm sure it will be very cool engineering.

Take it for what it's worth. But it's my understanding, than Jan says the TDR is at it's design limit and he will not be upgrading it.
