Recommend KDE over scorpion. No oiling of the bearings every 5 flights.
No opinion on Quantum.

Kde direct motor. As the one guy said no oiling is needed and the support is awesome. Patrick is a very nice guy and is willing to help. Also if something is needed to be sent in it only goes to Washington . With scorpion you have to ship to Hong Kong which is a pain. I have a scorpion esc sent there now and it has been gone for almost a month now and it still isn't fixed. All something to consider. Power wise the kde is the king of power tooTeam Jr

Thanks LaDon - only negatives I have heard was they have a relatively narrow (6mm) shaft that sometimes distorts and the bearings, although stacked, are small relative to others of his category. Powerful and cooler running, they are.Compass 7HV, Trex 550E

Well we have that has three years of beating the crap out of it plus a few crashes and have never hurt it or done anything to it. I will guarantee you one think nobody beats Patrick on support. If you buy one and have any problem with it he will take care of you. My kid flies on his team and before he started flying for him he still took awesome care of him.Team Jr

Just be careful. I saw a CC Ice2 160 go up in flames with the KDE motor. Lots of raw power, but there is always a price to pay.Logo 700, Specter 700, Goblin 700, Trex 700DFC, Gaui X7, Logo 690SX, Logo 600SX; Trex 470 Trex 500

You will be ok with the edge 160. I flew ours with an ice2 160 for 2 years with several crashes before we finally burnt the esc.Team Jr

The flame I saw was on the 5th flight, and being flown by one of the pro pilots down at May Day in Sulphur. But it was an Ice 2 with the red dot, not the Edge.

Not trying to fault the motor at all, just noting that it has the capability to pull immense power loads from an esc.
