Having trouble getting back into the groove
Ok so a little background I have been out of the hobby totally gor 4 to five years and got a Outrage Velocity in a trade and had alot of help from many great people on this site. Ok so here is my issue I am just having a really tough time finding the drive and not being too scarred to put t in the air. I finally got a chance to get it in the air and I don't know if it was my nerves or or if something was wrong with the heli but it started to wobble badly and I set it down hard and stripped out both gear sets. I just don't know if I am going to be able to reconnect and fly like I did before. Got some suggestions

Get a mcpx bl. Got me back really quick and even trying things I never tried before low to the ground. I have crashed it several times and it just keeps on tickingMy Sponsor:VISA

It will come back to you after your nerves settle down. I stopped long ago for about 5 years or so and it took a bit to get back on the horse.

TMoore and patriot have good suggestions, both would be even better!

Now, the wobble, was it your thumbs or something else?

+1 on the mcpx BL. If you can find nice thick grass to fly over, most crashes won't cause any serious damage, so the fear factor is greatly reduced, allowing you to concentrate on just flying.

I have an extremely hard time flying counter-clockwise circles, and the BL has come a long way to helping me get over that hump.

I have a sim and have been on it for about a month or so. As far as a small heli that does sound like a good idea. I will look into itTrying not to put them in the dirt.

I bought my kids an MSR.. My 5 year old hovered it today and she has never flown anything.. I like the sim, but it's not a replacement for stick time, in my opinion.Aut viam inveniam aut faciam

A Sim you already have. Now a small heli the mcpx bl, or other that you may like looks of, color and price. The mcpx, and nano seem to be most popular. But I also hear good stuff on the newest Heli-Max Axe 100 SS Brushless FBL. Those are the best ever confidence building birds you can buy/fly, pretty much risk free flying/crash no damage, if you take precautions. Fly over tall grass if available, and or always hit throttle hold if you think your going to crash. And let it drop into the grass. It will save it every time.
