in short
The premise is that UAS will be allowed to operate in the NAS, but in so doing cannot reduce existing capacity or decrease safety, cannot negatively impact current operators/operations, and cannot increase the risk to airspace users or people or property on the ground — any more than the integration of other new or novel technology.

I don't read that statement negatively. We want to maintain or improve the current level of safety, not degrade it.

As I am flying my Piper Cub, I don't want any mechanical bird strikes. I have enough to worry about. You loose an aircraft, I can loose my life. It just could not be any simpler than that.

No you are not going to fly IFR in the NAS with a $500 foamy plane. You are going to have to obey the rules that all other pilots in the space are following. You are not going to be able to fly at the end of the runway at JFK.

Until the plane landed in the Hudson, it was not thought possible that bird strikes could disable a passenger jet. On that day, the thinking changed. Blame the geese.

I don't think that was geared at they hobby level aircraft, We shouldn't be flying close enough to congested airways to cause problems in the first place. I would definitely not want to be the cause, or be involved in any RC related aircraft mishap.Aut viam inveniam aut faciam
