Why is it that this thread has turned more from the 150 DFC to a 130x bashing, I think more people want to know what's going on with the 150 DFC.

I personally like and fly my 130x often, and it flys well and has learnt me loads in the 6 months I have been flying, I had the 100x before that and it was a massive disappointment but I am still interested in the 150 DFC for thumb practice in the winter in the house,

Every crash is different. You see it fly once and first crash happen to be bad, don't mean it is a bad Heli. You didn't fly one yet.
All I can say is that T150 have ton of power. No bogging at all. It is quick little thing. The T150 was out of the box and pretty much on a maiden flight. The T150 hit the ceiling inverted and crash onto the floor. I think a nano or 130 will suffer the same fate.

rpat I agree with you. My only concern with crashes has always been the expense of the parts/blades to fix the thing. Some helis just handle wrecks better than others, but that's not my criteria. Flying stable and predictable and responsive (and throw in forgiving) is my thing.

I'm scared to take chances with my 700e, for example, because even just a new set of blades costs like $100+, and this has NOTHING to do with the heli's "crash worthiness". So if the pilot makes a mistake or a close call, I just about have to change my shorts.

The gears held up fine. But the wires got chopped some how. After reading the other crash report this wasn't that bad. I'll still get one.

I have one on order at heli direct. I called them the other day to get a status report and they said that they were not even getting their first shipment until the 15th. I am on the second order being that I just put the order in last week. the next shipment will not get here till about a week after the first one, so I am guessing for me it will not be until the first of the year.trex 700fbl cal30,minititan,, trx600fbl,trex250,logo 500,Velocity N2

The nice thing about the 150 parts is that it looks like every thing has two parts in the package for the price, not a bad deal.

After all the hype, all the posts, the only fault people find is that you can't drill it into the ground, a basketball goal post, a brick wall, then pick it up, dust it off, and continue to fly?

Where did the expectation come from to think you should be able to crash a helicopter and come away unscathed?

I'd like to believe I could stuff my 700N into the ground and not break anything. But it's not the real world, kids.

That's great news! So long as the gears hold, most repairs shouldn't take too long to fix. Thanks nycatt.

the 150 competed with the mcpx, and the mcpx takes crashes very well hence its popularity and since the 150 is directly competing for the spot that the mcpx has been king of for some time now, i can not fault anyone for comparing the two with how they handle a crash, it is not stupid or off base to compare the two.

safe to say if the 150 cracks up during crashes, the mcpx will reign supreme and at the end of the day it will bring home the bacon, closely following flight characteristics, these little helis are supposed to be crash resilient.

I don't believe that is a safe assumption.

You crash any heli hard enough and it is over!

No matter what brand or size you fly.

PS. I don't own any Align helis...yet.

If you guys are making your purchases on how a heli crashes and not how it flies you guys should get into hill climbing with jeeps not trying to fly a machine. you guys got it all wrong!trex 700fbl cal30,minititan,, trx600fbl,trex250,logo 500,Velocity N2

eh, somewhat true.
Like with planks, you can build 'em real light and they fly better, you of course expect them to not crash as well. But you at least expect to land them without ripping the gear out on a greased landing.
There's certain things you expect to withstand normal useage.
I just stripped the center hole of a tail gear on my 130 and I can't even say I touched anything with the tail....
I cancelled because I just have too many helis and the B/L is working great right now, plus I'm gonna use the dough for the newest gas plank.....
