wow thats a lot if cash for that kit. i messed with a friens Diabolo once and honestly was not that impressed by it to get me to fork out that much dough. the shear fact of how much you spent for one kit will earn you the envy from your heli peers though lol

Think I'll get the white and black..
Think I'll just get the SFR2 fuse for my TDR and save 3 or 4 large.

I don't think you'll save 3 to 4 large.. The S is only 1k more than most of your high end heli's.. So I feel like its a deal for what it is.Aut viam inveniam aut faciam

I'm only getting one if they are still available after Christmas.. I didn't plan to buy one so dropping 2,500 on a toy for myself is a little tough to explain.. Not that my wife would care, but it's the principle. I would prefer not to have that conversation.. Lol.. If they are all gone, I will just continue with the 800 TriAut viam inveniam aut faciam

Right, but I'm talking about the total price of building another heli...electronics and all, compared to just putting the fuse on an existing heli.

Even neato-er than the Uvular...IMO.

I'm with you there,I'm trying to decide if I want to have that conversation about any Diabolo right now...hence the thought of the fuse.

They are nice.. I almost bought a TDR but I can't get past those skids.. They are ugly. I love how low and mean the Diabolo looks. I am not really a fan of how the S looks.. Reminds me of a rubber duckie or something.. But it's purpose built, I do like that. And it's purpose is speed.. And who doesn't like that? My Diabolo now is noticeably quicker than my Goblin, with a smaller motor. It runs cooler than my Goblin, but I love them both. I can crank the Goblin up to 2250 and stop it on a dime like it hit something.. But that's what it's for.. The Diabolo is smoother all around. I would recommend both for sure.. But back on topic... I know I can't pass this by if the opportunity knocks at the right time..Aut viam inveniam aut faciam

I was going to get a Diabolo S...really i love the look of it, Yes it is expensive but damn it is nice. The only factor that was killing me was that I had to buy new battery packs for it as my current batteries are 12s packs. Long story short I got the opportunity to buy a banshee....

It was actually really bad for me as I did tell Gerd I would take the Diabolo S, infact I was 30min away from paying when I received the email that I can have the banshee...so i had to back pedal there. Honestly i wish I could have brought both but I'm very happy with my purchase and trust me, The wife will kill me if I had to buy another heli right now.

At least I will have first hand viewing of one, as a very good friend of mine has brought one.

One thing, my banshee was a pita to get the canopy to fit after installing all the wires (I use EC5 connectors) that I had to redo it 4 times, infact I was so close to change all connections to bullets, eventually i got it to fit...can you imagine what a pita its going to be to get the wiring to fit on the diabolo s...I believe there is less space than the banshee. EC5 connectors wont fit.....

Stunning machine and I would have loved to own one...Next machine I have my Eye on will be either the triabolo/diabolo or the new banshee....Starting the foot rubbing with the wife now already :-)

I don't have a problem with the skids, but you can get low profile skids, or a few other CF options...I think I'm going to make my own.

Watch at YouTube

I am sure you have seen this but here is the intro video. He does say it will take some dedication to build and maintain. That is super sweet heli though. I just saw the TDR crash video and that sucked.
I have a 3D heli, I don't understand why it doesn't do 3D.

I didn't want to have to make skids OH.. they are both amazing aircraft, the choice was not easy. And you should be stoked! the S is 1k cheaper than you originally thought!!

Blake- thats where the Banshee went! have you started building it yet? that is a nice bird too. I would be interested in where it stands against the TDR and the Diabolo as far as quality and flight characteristics.

That video is not coming up on my computer at the moment.. I will try to reload it and see what happens.

Jip, thats where the banshee went...all the way to dubai. I have built her up yes and can officially say I did the banshee maiden on the 6 December 2013.

The best was to see all the comments on the for sale thread, especially the one about paying some one soo much money before even having the heli...well I can tell you this, I did not know this person from a bar of soap, paid him via a wire transfer (paypal fees and the exchange was mad) and got the heli within a week from paying, she was brand spanking new.....any way

I was really nervous for this maiden...as we all know what had to go in the air.

Below is my response posted on Helifreak regarding my banshee flight. Lets just say what a heli...I'm blown away.

"Well today was the big day. Let me be very honest I was crapping my self. Luckly I had a once off detail check by a very good friend of mine....guess what my tail gyro was the wrong way....I got very lucky there. So we quickly changed it and carried on with the final checks. Spooled her up to make sure normal mode was as my jlog reading and off she went.

I had a total of 3 flights with her, the best thing was I did not have to change any settings on my beastx, she fekt so locked in. The banshee is really much faster than the TDR, now im not just saying this to justify the mobey spent but REALLY, it flies like nothing I have ever flown. The only model I can compare it to currently is my TDR, to put blantly the TDR feels spongy in the air while the banshee....well damn so much power and sooo locked in. Not sure if its got anything ti do with the HC servos but wow what a feeling.

The sound is incredible, the crowd was loving it and my wife could not stip saying how fast it was. The best of all was when I came into land turning down RPM to 1180...there was silence as every one even I thought there was something wrong but she just gently got laid down and I could not stop smilling!

I can honestly say that what ever everyone has been saying...WELL ITS TRUE!!!"

It is a very unique opportunity to be able to own such a limited production aircraft. Well done sir. I saw the thread, and people talking about how pricey it was and would be scared to fly it. I would not be scared, I am not going to pay that much money for something and not use it for its intended purpose thats for sure. It would figure that it went to Dubai, what a fitting home for it : ).
Congrats!

Thank you Craig!!

I'm really lucky and bless to be able to have received such a opportunity...they are really scarce.

Fly she will fly and as much as I can honestly fly her. At this stage there are 3 flight already under the belt. I agree with you, I did not purchase this heli to sit on the shelve, Like I always say, its not if it falls out the sky its when, as everything that flies has to come down.

When that Happens I will deal with it at the stage but will ensure everything in my power to ensure she is in perfect condition before every flight.

Good luck with the decision to buy the diabolo s - what a beautiful heli

Thanks, I don't see how I am going to talk myself out of it at this point. If it all comes together, so be it, if not, so be it. I still have my Diabolo.. and that in itself is an amazing aircraft.Aut viam inveniam aut faciam

They are under $2400. A custom limited edition speed machine, with full clean fuselage, and color package. Thats is not bad.

By the time one buys a TDR and add a SFR2 body you will be over $2500. If you already own a TDR, well, that route makes sence.

From what I heard the first 25 will ship out soon (next 2 weeks?) and the other 25 in early 2014.

I do not know myself but I "believe" they are not sold out yet.

and

mine will be yellow...
