Polarity protection?
You are joking.
this just was a expensive experience.
You are lucky if the rest of the electronic survived.

I did read in some thread that there are People rapairing those things (i remember they are somehow "plastic casted in" but i doubt that a polarity reverse unit might have a Chance for a repair much below new Price.
But search with Mama Google...

I do believe there is a polarity protection diode inside the Jive, but good luck getting to it and repairing it. The guys who have developed the JLog2 (over on HF) might be able to tell you how to locate and identify this component if you are really serious about trying to go about DIY fixing it.Avant RC

I sold a club member my Goblin 700 with Jive 80HV and he too had put the blue plastic on the wrong way on the EC5's! I felt so bad for the guy! Apparently all Kontronik will do is sell you a new unit at a slight discount.60% of the time, it works every time!

This is why Kontronik cannot repair them.

I bow down to you, or whoever had the nuts to take a band saw to the Jive. That is very cool to see.Nick Crego

With enough time and money anything is possible, but this is why it's not possible or cost effective for Kontronik to repair them.

I must admit, it wasn't me. Kontronik had it on display in their booth at IRCHA this year. I just managed to snap a picture of it.

I recall seeing a thread on another site where a guy managed to carefully remove the red rubber and dissect the internals. So if you are really serious about repairing it yourself, there is limited information available out there.Avant RC

Sorry that happened, bud. It's tough to see anyone suffer damage. Over on HF right now, one guy seems to be making light of a few Kontronik fire incidents. That is too bad. I don't wish ill luck on anyone.

Best wishes,
Rob

Sorry that happened Ringo,
I've done it when I started electric, but that was like 45A ESC and I got off relatively inexpensive. (Still expensive back then.)

Kontronik does repair Jive in some cases, but not sure what the case might be.
Best advice will be contact to Charles Anderson or Greg at Helidirect, and explain what happened before you do anything. Or you can contact to Kontronik direct.

It won't be warranty, but you should get some discount for new one.
