Hey guys I just purchased a Trex 700 nitro pro with a vbar. I am looking to replace all the gears with the new black align ones and use a KDE main gear and hub. My problem is, this is my first nitro and I dont know whats a good gear ratio. I am going to run the stock align 91h and use the vbar gov to keep the head speed at 1950. So my question is what KDE main gear and pinion is best along with the auto gear because there is a bunch of them along with TT gear sets. What tooth count and TT gears will get me the right gearing for this head speed. Also what is a good source for a nice pipe I have the stock align but I cant seem to find a hatori. And my last question is whats a good source of the right size clear fuel tubing and a good filter.

The stock 8.2 gear ratio will suit the OS 91 series perfectly for a 1950 head speed.

There is no need for the KDE main gear, and certainly not on the Nitro. Even running the stock 0.7 Mod gears with the original 91HZ, you shouldn't have any gear stripping issues.

The MOD1 Align are appropriate for the OS 91 Speed 3D or the OS 1.05HZ.

Many, myself included, prefer the 4.95 tail gear ratio. You will need to run the 104T Auto Gear and 21T TT Gear set.

Hatori is available directly from them, as well as websites such as Amainhobbies, experience RC, and many others. A google search for the SB-22FH should return many results.

The Great Planes/Dubro blue medium fuel tubing works well, and I've had great success with the larger green Align tubing.

Ooops!

You're right, the correct pipe for the 91H is the SB-20.

I believe Amainhobbies carries this along with a number of other retailers.

The SB-20FH-2 is the pipe you want for the 91H.

I suggest you use the Align pipe. It works great and is as quiet as any other. A perfect pipe for the .91.

Don't know where you are at for your flying abilities. But yes the Align pipe is quiet. However the Hatori really lets the engine produce a lot more power. You can not go wrong with the Hatori pipe at all.

Carpe Diem!!!

Here's my take on this. If you really want performance and awesome power, you are not going to be happy with the O.S. 91. It is a fine motor for the average sport flyer and beginner in 3D. So if you are one of those (like me) the Align muffler is all you need. For $90 it is a good buy and if (when) you crash and land on the muffler, you can replace it for $90. Buy the Hatori for $225 is so inclined. That's why the previous post asks "where you are at for your flying abilities?".

I am a sport and mild 3d flyer i just started practicing rainbows and tic-tocs. I found a good deal on a hatori sb-20fh matt botos special. Now I have that and a align pipe so I will let you know what pipe I like better. I need to rebuild the motor so I just ordered the parts to do that so everything will be fresh.
