Obamacare nixes cancer patient’s insurance; new plan is so expensive he’s decided to die in peace

This is probably the most heart breaking story from the Obamacare debacle yet. A South Carolina man was diagnosed with cancer and his old insurance was providing him with the doctors and treatment he needed, but that insurance has been cancelled because Obamacare regulations. His new options are so expensive that he’s decided to give up and “let nature take its course” rather than put his family under the financial strain of paying for the new insurance that Obamacare requires.

This guy is no partisan hack. He voted for Obama in the last election, believing in his promise of more affordable health care.

I truly hope that some generous folks out there will reach out and help this man and his family financially. No person should have to choose between complying with a government mandate and death.

Here's the video:

Really heartbreaking.

The desire to rail on Obama is harder to do when the victim is actually staring out of my computer.

Obamacare bashing is easier when talking about victims without names and faces.

I feel for the guy. He's not that old and appears as if he's more concerned with the burden on his family than his own death.

Tough.

Yeah, I know where that guy was coming from.

When I was first diagnosed with leukemia about 4 years ago, I thought I had max 5 years to live. The type of leukemia I thought I had was ALL Leukemia. No cure. Drastic treatments at that time to extend life. But, still no cure.

After further blood tests it was discovered that I had CLL Leukemia. That form of leukemia is rather harmless to most my age and most likely will die of natural causes some day. It does have some symptoms that pop up once in a while. But, nothing I can't deal with without to much trouble. I do have to have regular blood tests every 90 days or so to make sure that my white blood cells stay in check. CLL is a blood cancer and is a "Chronic" disease. Its in a form of remission most of the time. If it ever does spring up and my glands put out to many white blood cells, it can be treated and brought back into remission to possibly spring up again.

There are several forms of leukemia out there with childhood leukemia being the most lethal of all of them and there is treatment for it but seldom successful. It takes them rather quickly. The type I have is the friendliest kind a few die from the disease.

Medical science in this field is advancing quickly. When I was first diagnosed with CLL, treatments were such that if white blood count got to high, they would either do an immediate bone marrow transplant or chemo therapy, or even possibly both treatments to bring it back in check. That does happen although there still is no outright cure. Treatment has advanced to the point where its some very, very expensive pills and just a few days in the hospital for a geezer my age to bring it back in check.

Seriously, its not a big deal. You can Google CLL Leukemia to see for yourself.

I did forget to mention the fact that when I was mistakenly diagnosed with the wrong form of leukemia, I found out quickly that the treatments for that form of leukemia was horribly painful and extremely expensive. For a few weeks there, I had pretty much made the decision that I would just let it run its course.

Its hard to imagine what you go through when that happens to you and almost impossible to explain it. So, I do have some idea what that guy is going through in his mind and with his family.

I am not going to say it to the poor guy that he deserves it for voting Obama. This just pisses me off, that real people are being affected by that hack in the white house that has no regards for anyone except himself.

FU Obama!

We are headed the way of Canada with our healthcare.

Canada spends a lot less per person than we do...why? People just don't get treated because there's no one to treat them.
Specialist physicians surveyed across 12 specialties and 10
Canadian provinces report a total waiting time of 17.7 weeks
between referral from a general practitioner and elective
treatment in 2012.

http://www.fraserinstitute.org/uplo...r-turn-2012.pdf
That's over four and one half months wait time AFTER a person has seen his GP and the GP determines the patient needs to go to specialist.

We are losing doctors and picking up 11 million illegals overnight. We are toast.
