Hello all,
I just purchased a used Trex 450 that came with 2 gyro systems. The one that is installed is a Futaba GY601 gyro/programmer paired with a Futaba S9256 servo, and it seems to fly well with that set-up. Question is, it came with an extra Curtis Youngblood Solid G gyro with the GView programmer that I don't know anything about. Is it even worth installing that gyro and seeing how it works with the Futaba servo, or is the Futaba combo currently installed a better system altogether and I just get rid of the Youngblood parts? I just don't want to waste the labor of installing a part that may not fly as well as what is currently set up. Any advice?

I've had both, they are both great. If I had a working tuned in 601 I wouldn't pull it off in favor of the Solid G. If I had them both sitting on the bench and needed to install one or the other, I'd go solid G. I flew one years ago in a Spectra G and loved it. It's the only gyro I've ever seen that was able to hold a tail perfectly solid in a gasser during break in.

Great to hear from somebody that's had experience with both, I appreciate it. Good points to consider - Thank you very much.
