Have a look at http://www.Readymaderc.com for the video downlink and camera ... it's actually cheaper to go for the V2 and use your Iphone or google phone for the ground station ... This little thing is amazing!

Phantom
If you are not interested in flying FPV (first person view) the regular DJI Phantom works well. It has most of the features folks want, auto return to home, battery failsafe, and a camera mount for the Gopro 3 camera which shoots both video and stills. You can add a brushless gimbal for smoother video and FPV stuff later as finances work out. If you want the FPV from the start, the V2 Vision should work for you and is all in the box.

On a dog sled team, if you're not the lead dog, the view never changes.

What is the range of the V2 and flight time?

Can you bind it to a JR TX?

The V2 reportedly has something like a 20 minute flight time, has a huge battery in it. Much improved over the original phantom which only gives 5 to 7 mins.

The r/c part of it is now on 5.8ghz, I believe, with the V2, so you have to use their radio with it. They did this so they could put the video downlink on 2.4ghz, if I remember right.

The old-school phantom is great as a soccer-field FPV quad; just velcro a TX and a cam onto it and go FPV'ing. I made a cam mount out of the supplied GoPro camera mount on mine so I could attach a regular surveillance style cam on the bottom of it. The only drag is low flight times....

I've been enjoying my Phantom 2 Vision this week. The 25 minute flight times are simply amazing. Two batteries is all just about anyone will ever need. It's plug and play FPV, Video, Pictures with all the feature you can use. And it's DJI so it's just about trouble free.

Can you get it with a video receiver or do you have to use a phone?
