Ok guys need your input
we rent some property off of a older gentleman that is in the hospital they don't think he is going to make it our clubs thoughts and prayers go out to him
the club of 10 loved flying there and the gentleman loved us flying there he always sat on the porch and watched but his boy and his wife hates us flying there always complaining about something were doing :-(
the club is talking about finding another place to fly just incase
the question was brought up about flying at our local municipal airport they have a open grass field off to the side off the airport no where close to runway
there is only 3-4 of us that fly
is there any input on this before going out to the airport and asking?
thanks

Your success would depend on the airport, its layout, how busy it is, whether the owner (or FBO) would want you there and whether you can get along with the full scale people. You have to be be 100% certain there would be no conflict with the full scale traffic. Would this be a private airport or one owned by some government body? You say Municipal but this can still be private. It makes a difference if you don't have to deal with some government body.

Flying at airports can and does happen around the country so it does no harm to go check it out.

airport
They might have 2 or 3 planes land there all day if your lucky and they have had little air shows there before and they are the ones that invited the rc club out to put on a static display and fly the area the runway and where we would be flying is away from the real runway we would be back behind the hangers

Sounds like the airport would be the best place without haters around. Let them know if a full scale is going to fly, ALL rc's will be grounded.
Good Luck!

Contact Tony Stillman. He can actually be of assistance helping you with information on developing a plan before approaching the owner of the airport.
