Anybody noticed that ?

After not using my lipo for a while one was puffed but voltages ok.
After a couple of cycles the ''puffiness'' is reduced by half.

Any explications ? is this normal.

No punctures.

Thanks

Once a lipo puffs, it is all downhill from there. Some last quite a while and still put out good power, but I haven't had any that fully recovered to "pre-puff" performance. The harder you push them after that inital puffing, the shorter that "after-life" becomes.

This is not as easy to see/feel in smaller packs, but shows up much easier in large packs. Some lipos are worse than others when it comes to longevity after puffing.

The puffing may be from electrolyte decomposition, some mild contaminants at the time of manufacture, etc. If it was not due to over-charge or damage, perhaps the worst that will happen is shorter life span.

Don't know why the puffiness would go down.
