Working on another modded engine and been playing with different carbs (venturi size) and noticed that maybe our gassers would benefit from a 3 needle carb...reason is that when were flying that vibrations can be minimized with proper tuning across the the RPM band where the heli flys the most, but the load and throttle position changes alot from just hovering around to collective intensive moves that throw the carb all over the place. I have noticed that alot of the carbs I have tested seem to run rich right after idle before WOT...then lean back out at WOT when tuned right...wouldn't a 3 needle carb fix this issue? or would it make things more of a PITA? I have never played with a 3 needle carb on a Nitro (just the 2 needle type) so how much trouble are they?

showing a preference will only get you into trouble, 90% of everything is crap...

in a way we do have 3 needle carb on gas but we take it off...the idle speed screw.. I thought when tuning gas carb the low handles idle to low mid and high needle is the rest. also isn't the high needle tuned to give best performance at near wot then the governor holds the rpm for our hs? or something like that

I thought the middle needle on nitros adjusts hover rpm only since there is a wider throttle response in relation to throttle plate or barrel as compared with gas

3 Needle carb
Many new pilots have a hard time adjusting a two needle carb. I think a 3 needle carb would make things more complicated. Just my opinion.

Quick Charge,Fuel, and let's go Flying!!!
