I just installed the Demon 3x in my 700e Pro. It was a little confusing at first, I had to get used to the software and set-up on it, but with some help from a freind of mine we got it set up. I took the first couple of flights on it yesterday and all I can say is wow!. It feels like a whole new helicopter. Its feel is totally differant from my previous fbl controller. The 3x gives you that locked in feeling and responds very quickly and also stops very quickly to inputs. Doing a little fine tuning on it now and I will give it a whirl again today. Definately a step in the right direction. Russ

BD/HC is a very good controller. Good choice .
What were you using before? I did not use the Align controller at all.

I was using Beast-x. I like the beast-x controller a lot. I am running one on my other heli and it works very good. I just felt it was time to try another controller seeing as how many fbl controllers are on the market now and am glad I tried the Bavarian Demon 3x. I got a couple more flights on it today and I am pretty happy how it is working so far.

Glad it worked out, your heil looks like it is flying great.

The 3X is a winner, everyone thinks the 3SX is the only choice from BD with bail out at double the price. The 3X is the exact same hardware and software except for the bail-out, it is more cost competitive with the same flight characteristics. Glad Russ decided to give it a try.

I don't have anything FBL other than a micro, I'm thinking about converting the one I have now plus my winter project. Does the BD have default setting that fly good right out of set up to do you have to tune it? I'm familiar with flight controllers on quads and hexacopters and most of the time they are good default settings, I was wondering if you'd have to worry about it going out of control setting it up.

The defaults are pretty good.

Raja gave me his gassers settings for the HC/BD at a fun fly. These setting transferred with minor changes to a Whip E and now to Russ's T700. It mainly quickens up the cyclic around center stick. I can forward them to you if you decide to get one.

A good default, and that is what we have it for, is the factory default. This is the way to start with, setting head and tail gain to 40-50% for the first lift-off. These gains need to be tweaked on every heli. There is no real default for those.
But for sure there is almost no way to get it to crash you heli, if you do not decide to set some parameter to a completely stupid value Stay with the defaults and your heli as well as you are safe.
