Finally been bitten by her Goblin bug. After a year of progressing on my 550's Machines I decided it was time to finally get a bigger 12S machine. Figured the 630 was a great sized bird falling in between a 600 and 700 size machine. Plus I can simply stretch it to a 700 with just a few parts! Here are the specs of electronics used and some build pics. Will get video up after the maiden this weekend.

•SAB Goblin 630•

Flight Style: Big Air 3D
FBL System: iKON
Motor: Scorpion HKIII HK4035-560 KV
Pinion:T Pulley
Headspeeds: 1750/1950/2400
ESC: Castle Edge HV120 ESC
Governor: Castle Internal Gov
BEC: Castle BEC Pro
Cyclic Servos: MKS HBL950 Cyclic Servos
Tail Servo: MKS HBL980 Tail Servo
Main Blades: SAB 630m FBL Main Blades
Tail Blades: SAB 105m Tail Blades

Mmm sexy MKS servos!

Great vids Chris and nice flying. Seriously thinking about swapping the Logo600SX for the 630Comp.

lol.. Chris, you certainly have the Goblin bug! And yep.. I love my Logos too but love the Goblin.

I'm not nearly as skilled as you in the air.. but it's not an either/or between Mikado & SAB for me.. they are two different machines, both with their plus sides. The Logo head & disc load/weight is brilliant. And the Gob tran drive & tail make it a different joy to fly.

Oh.. and thanks man.. your Gob frenzy is starting to take hold on my end. I have the 700 Comp.. but haven't decided which is next.
You seem to have the entire lineup .. do you have a preference?

The 630 was my first Goblin, just finished the 500 and logged my 5th flight on it yesterday. Damn... The little thing is a super fast powerhouse!!! Flights times though 3-4min...

I can get 6-8 min out it my 630 with lower head speeds. As far as the 770 I'm halfway through the build. The 700 and 630 are pretty much the same just faster response out of the 630 with less auto hang time.

Chris- Any thoughts in terms of the 4035-560 for this application? Does it have enough power, any bogging etc?

Get guys:

Didn't get the 700 yet it will be the regular one.

As far as the Scorpion motor choice goes shoot Scorpion and E-mail. I always run the Scorpion motors the manufactures recommend. The one I am running is very powerful!

Todd, I have a 630 with a 4035-560. CC Edge 120HV and spyder 4000s.
Plenty of power. I would not recommend a scorpion though.
Runs far too hot and even with proper oiling I have put 3 main bearings in it in a hundred flights. The shaft has been scored now and a replacement shaft is over $30.
I believe the issue is that the bearing shaft is a few thousandths smaller than the bearing and it has a little bit of rocking on the shaft. So, with a belt drive this causes the bearing to ride on one side of the inner race. Locktite won't help. Try your luck with a Quantum if you want to go cheaper. The one in my 500 is working great, runs cool and has plenty of power.
I am gong to get a kontronic 700 or 750 for my g630, doubt I'll ever buy another scorpion after my headache with this one.
