These guys never cease to amaze me. I have a 550X that just recently developed a case of the tip overs. I ran through the controller setup.. vbar setup.. more than 3 times each. I re-setup the heli completely another 3 times. What was happening was the elevator servo seemed to be giving out and re-centering itself in random positions. It was fine on the bench.. would behave as normal and react as expected. As soon as I started turning rotors and tried to lift off it would tip the hell and I would notice the elevator servo horn was not centered. Turns out the servo horn stripped. I contacted Horizon and they made it good.. and I have had the 550 a few months.. like 4. They are sending me the parts I need in the AM.. the big parts.. the canopy and the blades.. Take that Blade haters. I have been all over the world with my heli's and no matter where I am, Horizon is willing to honor their warranties and bend over backwards to help. I was just stumped and contacted them on a whim.. they helped me troubleshoot.. and then offered to replace the parts that had been damaged once the cause was identified. I don't know who else you can call like that and get what you need, no matter who it is, or what it is for. Horizon Hobby has the best customer service of any company I have ever dealt with.

or you could just get a quality product from the start that just works from the get go and you never have to get any customer service at all, just enjoy a proper product worth your money. Just sayin'

I own a Goblin 700.. and am building a Diabolo 800+… I feel like I can identify quality when I see it. Its a quality aircraft, and the servo horns are made from what seems to be a similar plastic as my more expensive Outrage HV's. Perhaps its the pertinence of your response that lacks quality. You have to accept when mass producing a product that a few are going to have problems. It's how you attend to those issues that define who you are as a company. I will continue to purchase their products and fly them alongside my more expensive ones.Aut viam inveniam aut faciam

Well said...HH handled my dx7 issues well, sent back with no charge of shipping and actually cleaned the switches and screen. That is above and beyond customer service. Glad to hear the 550 issues are ironed out and taken care of swiftly.

I have seen problems from them all.
I find it kinda interesting with Horizon. It doesn't seem they do nearly as good a job at marketing, advertising, fanboy support as some of the others. But when there is the slightest of issues, they are right there. Like no other really.
I've developed quite a respect for the culture there.

Oh I'm just playing..HH is good people, they know that the customer matters...even those that buy the smallest of items...too bad there are alot out there that leave you hangin once youve paid
showing a preference will only get you into trouble, 90% of everything is crap...

if brown nosing = free stuff.. I'll take it. I have spent thousands on this hobby, as have most of us. I think I had around $600 in my MSR alone in parts and what not.. then there was the SR, which finally found a trash can the the other day due to it not being worth the cost of repairing, the MCPX, The 130X… and the 550X.. needless to say, I am in deep when it comes to Blade heli's. It's awesome that Horizon looks out for their customers, regardless of people's opinion of their quality. How many of their new Pro-line heli's do you see for sale in any of the classified sections… I feel like that number is pretty low. That speaks pretty loudly to their quality. I have found that I have more money in electronics now with the larger aircraft because of upgrades, I don't crash them as much. I can spend a whole day flying the 550X or the Goblin and not one crash.. I don't think I get through 1 battery in the 130X without nosing it in, but I am a lot more brave with it. And I would say 2 out of 3 times I just pick that one back up and start flying it again, as long as I hit TH before she hits the dirt.Aut viam inveniam aut faciam

Hey Jeff ... glad to see all is well and hope you're having a good time State - Side.

Regarding this whole HH situation ... I'm agree-ance with both you and Flys3Fun. It's true mass production will even have it's issues. But when a company charges 5-7 times than what it takes to make a part... the $$$ should go elsewhere in accordingly. I'm glad to talk to an English Speaking when I call CS.

Me and HH have made a very rocky relationship courtesy of the notorious 130X and 300X. Again .. they did take care of me but at some point I did realized: " why don't they make a better quality product?"

- 130X is great when it work but why don't make a better tail?
- 300X is great when it the frame doesn't break & main shaft snap in in-fight ... they knew about even when it's first released in Europe but never fixed the issue when the 300X came out in USA.

I had the same problem as you Jeff ... 300X had a tip over on spool up. I double up like NASA and always fly with 2 exact same heli... took every part from the bad 300X and put it on the good 300X and vise-versa and the same result?!?! After 2 wks of trying to trouble shoot, i gave up and just sent it back and within a week I had a NIB 300X (which I flew and within 3 flights the main shaft snapped, main blades karate chopped the lip0, caught on fire and nearly took out the field)...LOL. Funny now that I think about it. Took that crispy well done 300X and tossed it in the trash AR7200BX and "ALL" b/c I had enough!(after made sure I extinguished all the flames, don't wanna start a trash can bon fire!) I told the person that I was corresponding with high up in the HH food chain. He didn't think I would throw something away after I show him the picture ... did I mention I got severe burn? I just left it as a that.
why can't they design the 300X with a more rigid frame or make a frame stiffener like Lynx? Or why would you have a shaft the same size as a 130X and the hole that takes up 80% of the material?!?!? No engineering sense @ all. Now I know better and stay clear away... But labeled as a HH Hater ...I'm sure their other heli's might be better ... but what would you do if you spent $$$$$ and got nothing but box of busted parts?

Don't know what more else to say. I Figured ... I'll just describe it as it is and let you guys make your own conclusion from it. I am quite embarrassed @ myself.

HH is open on Sunday and that's pretty cool.

I gave HH about $6k within 4 months .. my Credit Card statement is a constant reminder!

Put that walkera tail servo and a set of tail blades from a Trex 250 on that 130x.. See if that doesn't cure what ailes that 130x. I have never owned the 300x.. But my blade SR was awesome for me.. Until the electronics took a crap and I couldn't get it to act right. I am pretty sure it was the receiver and gyro, but I just tossed it as opposed to spending more money on it. Sucks because I bought 2 new batteries for it and now have no use for them. I'll probably trade them for something though.Aut viam inveniam aut faciam

I agree, Horizon Hobby is the bomb!! I have a JR9503, and it was having a constant drain on the battery. HH, fixed it, gave me a new tx battery and shipped back to my local hobby store. All I paid for was shipping. Another time I was having trouble with ar7000 rx, sent it HH, fixed the problem and replaced the satelite and gave me a longer cord for it. That's the ironic part ... Some products have issues and others work great. Just wonder why they just don't R&D products and fix the ones with well known issues? So in the meantime ... When a new product comes out from HH.....I would wait for reviews and Input from credible & reliable sources before I buy. After th 130X fiasco .. I never took the Nano CPX and MCPX BL plunge. Did I miss out?
But now I go with Mikado, SAB, Kontronik, Xera, Futaba, JR, V Bar and HC3-SX and if you can get them here on RR .... It's like Christmas when it arrives and you can not go wrong! Awesome products at generic prices!?!
