My 450mx is starting to have some trouble spooling up. It is fine once the motor starts spinning, it is just the initial start up that is a problem. I am running a Castle cc35 esc. My last flight today, the motor would not start. When applying throttle, there was a whining noise coming from the motor that got louder as I advanced the throttle, but it would not spin the blades. I spun the blades by hand and then applied throttle and it started right up. I flew a 4 minute flight with no further problems. I checked ESC and motor temps before and after the flight and neither were hot at all.
Is this a sign my motor is going bad or is it the ESC? When I spin the motor by hand, it feels normal with no strange hang ups. I know I can turn up the motor start power with the Castle Link software, but I am afraid that might just mask the problem.
I have more motors and other ESCs I can use. I am just curious what is most likely causing the problem, the motor or esc?
