I moved away from the Align to separate units. PushGlow unit and a ReactorHVX for me.

How so? The perfect regulators have an excellent reputation, much better than the Align 2-1

I appreciate the info guys. I'm not needing anything HV. Would a Sahara reg with the pin switch and a PushGlo work? Just worried that the Align reg might fail and I really don't need a crash right now.

I don't necessarily need a one piece unit. Just want something reliable.

I have been using a used Align 2 in 1 for 4 years now, don't know how long it had been used prior to that. Due to concerns over the switch I soldered in a better remote switch. When I went fbl a few years later I soldered in beefier battery wires and a second set of power output leads so I havr power going to the rx and a seperate power lead going to my fbl. It seems like a lot of fuss to go through but I really like having not only the onboard glow but also the battery voltage display. I know when I am down to a red and orange light I am at around 50% battery voltage.

I had a align regulator fail on me last month. Luckily it happened on the ground. The wires broke loose at the PCB. It's known failure point I could have remedied.

One other guy I fly with had a Hercules HV bec fail on him 2 weeks prior. It put the fear in me. Lol.

So I went to using a Life rx pack on my Vibe.

Ya that would work OuttaControl. A Castle Creation Pro BEC and the PushGlow would also work.

I would stay away from the 2in1 it caused a flight failure in my early raptor days the wiring and soldering from the unit to the push button and power switch is verry weak and can snap in some cases like mine.. if you were to use it be carful!

What does not kill you ****s you up mentally

Another vote for Perfect Regulators. There is a new version of the Safe Switch Duo Pro coming out soon that will include voltage monitor LEDS.

A 6 amp continuous-rated linear regulator with a built-in glow driver makes quite a useful power source for most helis. That is the 2 N 1.

It works very well, day in and day out. Some of the early units suffered from corrosion on the switch contacts that were easily corrected, bypassed, or replaced.

I have been using three of these, beginning with the first 600 Nitro Pro I purchased back in 2008. A second one in 2009 on a second 600 Nitro Pro, and a third one on a 700N for the past three years.

Never a hint of a problem, they just plain work. No switch troubles, no glitches, no bad anything.

The built-in glow driver is real easy to get accustomed to. I used to use a nice Radio South Mk III glow driver and remote headlocks.

I dug it out a week ago, after a planker at the field needed a glow driver, only to find the batteries inside were way past useful life. I use it so rarely I found myself not really wanting to justify the $18 for a replacement pack from Radio South.

The remote headlocks for the glow plug were always failing. Much more trouble than they were worth.

Remember, in the Internet world, you rarely hear complaints from people who have stuff that works. You ONLY see the bad reports. And keep in mind that for some reason, there is a group of people who just seemingly trash Align simply because they have to.
