leverage.

The main shaft is generally very small on a 700 =14mm, a 450 =5mm. Take that average axial point and swing 28 inches of 40 grams, easy to do. Now take the 5 ft long nearly 1lb rotor blades of the 700, harder to move that pound around isn't it. Though the blades are 10 times the weight they are only 2.5 times in length and chord. Generally a 700 is ten times the weight of a 450. In theory the 700 will be ten times slower than the 450 in directional changes and or affected by wind.

Try a short pair of blades on a heli, then swap a set of long ones on to compare.

air foil that is created by blades. the bigger the blade the bigger the air foil vs earth gravity and weight.Adding in a good setup fbl unit this the reason y bigger is more stable, but IMO small is stable per setup

If we are just talking hovering stability and you take away the wind factor, a small heli can be just as stable as a bigger heli, like you said its all in the setup.

60% of the time, it works every time!
