I got a pm asking me if I would have bought my Stingray if I knew there would be parts issues, and it realized that I may sound kind of down on the Stingray. I'm not, and I'll find some heli parts to adapt to it to toughen it up a bit, as it is I've got something lime $45 in pitch sliders alone to buy, and frankly that, along with some of the other parts prices and the fact that only large assemblies are sold is ridiculous. I'll find other things to replace them with that will be cheaper long term because this is a keeper. Here's what I sent in a pm about my Stingray:
Absolutely. I'd buy it again even with parts issues. It is awesome, unique, and a huge amount of fun. I love flying it, it's like a more agile heli that I can fly anywhere.

I throw it around as well as I do a heli, although I can't seem to get the timing right on piroflips, I think it's because the piros stop at 0 pitch and I've always cheated and gone to 0 except when the disk is up or down. As soon as it has any pitch either direction the piros go back to normal. I just need to learn to transition through 0 faster to piroflip it. The only thing it won't do is auto.

I love the Stingray. I've got probably 60 flight on it in the month or so since it was released, I've flown it more than anything else. I get 5.5 minutes of flight on my 4s 3300 packs.

Yes, it flies just like the real Stingray in my opinion.
There is also an option to open the canopy with the rotory knob showing the details under the canopy.

I can't wait to night fly with it on RF7.

There must be something wrong with my Stingray as it drifts constantly. It can not hover hands free. It is not stable at all.

Unstable
I had my rotor set loose at shaft fit.

Check ur linkages and all mechanical bits. Do flight trim and it will just hang in the air, as if on a string.

I tried to do the trim flight a couple of times but the lights wouldn't go off.
One time while doing trim flight the Stingray drift so far away I almost lost it.

Mechanical setup.
Definitely sounds like mech setup is off. I had the same problem... Found the loose rotor and some binding ....it became stable. Follow the videos to the letter. Good luck.

I would also agree, sounds mechanical to me.
Check all 4 links for binding, also ensure the TG Multi is centered on the tray. Ensure all 4 belt tensioners are loose - the default position.
Watch the videos as raholek suggests.

When I got home I dug through my spare parts bin and came up with a T-rex 450 Pro landing gear set. Cut it into 2 pieces, drilled a couple of holes and mounted it up. I like how it looks, it also feels a bit sturdier than the stock stuff.
I sure have to say I agree with you on the landing gear issue. Thus far, I have had to first replace the kit, as the screw head broke off in the aluminum housing. I was told that that problem had been identified and corrected, so they had me ship the kit back to them (@ $27.00 when insurance was included) and then I finally got a replacement kit, then on the maiden, the rear landing gear strut broke midway between the bend and the wheel fairing.

I did the assembly, the TG firmware update and the setup with no other problems, and did the maiden test flight a short while ago. When I landed at the end of the flight, I brought it down to a hover about 1-2 feet and flipped it to hold and simply did a mini auto. I was flying in soft, dormant St. Augustine grass and when it landed the rear landing gear broke right in the middle of the leg, right where there is a molding spot on the underside.

Contacted CYE and was told to get a Gorilla gear for the 450. No offer to correct the molding problem issue on the gear.

I will say that it flew great, at least for the hover in normal and IU. I used 75% on the dual rate and 20% expo. No type of acro, until I get a little more used to it. The initial flights were without the upper canopy, but after I find a gear for the bottom, I'll go ahead and install it.

After changing the shaft my Stingray still drifts. It always wants to go left and go backward. I think there is something wrong with my Total G.
