I'm looking for 5x16x5mm V or U grooved ball bearings to be used inside a Schluter tail boom for torque tube support. Anyone know of a US source?

The lot I got is not a lot, but I thank God a lot for the lot I got!

Have you purchased and used these bearings? I would personally have a hard time trusting a $5.00 ceramic bearing in a $2000.00 heli. It's not that I think spending extra just for the sake of spending is the way to go, but I have worked for years around metals, and would seriously be suspect of the material quality.

Good materials are not inexpensive.

Yes I have but in R/C off road cars only (as large as 1/8 scale nitro). He has been around for over 10 years. I remember him just started out sourcing bearings and everyone who has bought from him give him thumbs up.

Don't know the guy but watched his business grow over the years.

Oh that's interesting! I've never seen those types of bearings. What is the V groove for or the purpose of it?

kingmeow,
They're used on applications for several different types of railings/slides etc. There are also u-grooved for the same purpose. I'll be using them for torque-tube support on two of my Schluter helis. They'll be glued to a 5mm OD carbon fiber rod and an o-ring placed on the outer v-groove. The whole assy can then be inserted into the tail boom.

The lot I got is not a lot, but I thank God a lot for the lot I got!
