So i just started building my Goblin 500. I am very impressed with it thus far. The packaging is better than any heli I have ever seen, the instructions are super detailed and in color!!. Most important the engineering that went into this is nuts, the tolerances are most impressive, now that I am actually building one i can see why the price of these things is more. Lots of work went into manufacturing these things.

Everything will be ok, it could have been a lot worse. Actually this is a very common mistake, before you know it you will be a expert.

Again man I have never had more mishaps to a heli in my life. Of the 5 times I have flown it only 3 did it actually leave the ground. This time I accidentally put the tail belt drive on backwards, I think I'm going senile ...

Damn that sucks! I hate fighting my own mistakes. Sometimes those are the best lessons though, bet you will check it from now on. I have a whole list of things that I have messed up that I check and double check when I build. Hope she gets rebuilt and in the air again soon!

Preflight. Preflight Preflight ! ! !

Never fly anything without a proper preflight, you got lucky twice. I have lifetime scars for forgetting to do it ONCE !

^^^ Priceless!

I get to write standard operating procedures, sometimes for flight operations. The whole point is to establish a sequence or process where you can accomplish a given task in a safe manner. Our toy helis are not toys, but seriously complex machines, fun, and extremely dangerous.

soulrider911
Make a habit to follow a preflight and postflight checklist. Write your own, do it every time until is engrained. In time, it will be part of the fun, and it will save you time, money, and hopefully emergency medical bills.

thread highjacking is concluded

I agree with you all and normally I am very thourough, I think for some reason lately I have let my attention span lapse and it has resulted in these mis haps, however it makes me realize how important a pre flight is, especially with these Insalely high head speed helis...

After a good day of flying I always find a little bit of time to check everything out, I rarely find anything, but after I build something... I check everything what feels like hundreds of times. I know that feeling of trying to get something off the ground and having it tip over, or pyro out of control... I spent a lot as a young heli builder learning from my mistakes. Now since I don't make them as much.. I have more cash in my pocket and better heli's.
As for the quality of the he G500... If it's anything like its big brother, I bet it's awesome. I took my heli's out yesterday and it was stupid windy so the Diabolo stayed in the truck and the Goblin got jerked around the field... I love how that thing flies. My favorite move, and it's not even a trick, is just a turn, left or right, with the rotors facing towards you. There is something about a heli in a bank that I love.
Hope she is flying again soon.

Thanks Craig, I totally agree. The one thing that has really kept me flying helis is that it is a constant progression in every way. It also goes without saying that they are extremely challenging and with that comes great teap
