Last night i took my trex 700e v2 and swapped out beastx for 3gx 4.0 and it flew awesome with no tweaking it at all. So the 3gx 4.0 has been awesome on 450l and 700e. I will be staying with 3gx and selling my beastx

The 750 with the new software is awesome. It works well. I have both the vbar and the 750 and do t see much difference in the way they fly. I have tried the ar7200bx and skookum and 3gx and the vbar and 750 are the only 2 that will make it on our helis

Nothing wrong with the CVY750 as long as you are using the current v1.31 firmware.
I use them in my turbine scale machins and love them to bits, but I have spent time learning what to do.

Yes, you will want a Futaba radio to take advantage of the CGY750's features. You can make it work with other systems, but it is designed for Futaba radios.

Version 1.31 is fantastic, version 2.00 is supposed to be on par with the VBar. Nick Maxwell and Matt Botos (and others I'm sure) have both been extensively testing and helping Futaba fine tune this release, they are both extremely optimistic that it will be the best release yet.

It's a fantastic system and at the top of a very short list.

There are a few things that the CGY750 does better than everybody else: Tail authority, responsive feel (no lag), and nitro governor.

You will want a FASST system to fly large helis, the 8J is FHSS. I recommend and think most would agree that an 8FG or 14SG is all the radio one would ever need in our hobby.

The 14SG has some nice features (like a vibrating alarm and telemetry) and it fits in larger hands better. The 8FG is the most radio money can buy for it's price.

Wow wrong info
As for the gy 750 sucking. Wow. Is that a technical term? To suck? They sound like smart guys.

People who fly other equipment will be biased. Also futaba is more on the expensive side. A lot of people will never understand you get what you pay for.

8fg and gy750 is what I fly. Its a 14 channel radio. I also fly turbines on this. Its a great radio.

If you also look in the fbl section the cgy is the one with the least issues. Glad to see your looking the direction of futaba and paying a little more for long lasting quality.

EDIT - The really cool feature of the 14sg is the telemetry!! Decide if you want that otherwise 8fg is best bang for buck. And like the guy said above the governor is bang on. You set 2000 rpm in your 8fg its 2000 on the head. Using a BPS

The 8J is a great radio and will let you get the best out of the CYG 750. I have had the 8FGHS a 8JH and a 14SGH and I will say that the 8JH is no slouch. The FHSS radio link is just as good as FASST, If you don't believe me then just go look in the glider forums. Also team Amain hobbies pilot Devin LeBlanc flys his 700 size helicopter with a 8J. If you haven't seen him fly, go to youtube and check him out. also personally like the programming in the 8JH better than the 8FGHS or the 14SGH. I would keep your 8J and just fly it. If you're going to get a new radio, get the 14SGH, it is much better than the 8FGHS.

Can you define "much" better besides the telemetry? Because for helicopter functions their essentially identical.

I'm very interested?

The most notable is the improved ergonomics, the switch placement is spaced further apart and it just feels much better when you are holding it in your hands.
The vibe alert is a great addition.
The other nice feature is you can use any receiver that Futaba makes. the list goes on.

Anyways back to topic your 8j has 3 axis gyro support its all ya need and theirs a few cool models bind and fly with fhss.

Good luck!

Its the other way round, for sure, LOL
The older CGY750 sucks though. 1.31 is very well put together. I just hate the damn worthless manual, the new one took way too long to be released, probable killed off sales of the 750 and potential flyers.
If you're going to get a new radio, get the 14SGH, it is much better than the 8FGHS.
Agreed ^^

The 8J is also awesome, easy to program which is a plus for most pilots.
You will love the integration with your futaba remote and the 750.

Fly hard, fly low, fly till she leaves and never comes back.
