Wow!! That looked fun. Flying through that last tree really had me wincing.

I would like to know all about the setup as well. He covered a lot of ground during that flight.

Enjoy things that money can buy IF you don't lose the things money can't buy.

Why is it hard to believe? Because of the distance?

holy cow... can't you push that elevator stick any further forward than that.... Super nice vid!

Yes, there had to have been an LRS and hell of a ground station involved in this case...

I believe the flying and video was done in Thialand. I think all the different turns at the end of the video along with the 180 degree rotation and flying through the woods was probably done so to help confuse people as to where the person flying is located.

On vacation this coming week and will be in Fort Meade at the antique engine & tractor show Tuesday through Saturday. So I probably want see you at the flying field Friday, but have fun. If you decide to get into Quadcopters & FPV give me a call and I'll hook you up with Don's phone number and email. I'm sure he can help save you some bucks up front and along the way with what to buy and what not to buy. Been thinking about FPV myself but not sure if I want to spend the bucks.

If I had to guess, that's a DJI F550 in atti mode with the ELE stick rubber-banded against the full-forward stop lol..... And a good ground station and LRS system is somewhere around there if the pilot had any hope of keeping the downlink alive lol....

BTW, the F550 with a Naza V2 is an excellent FPV platform. In fact, its only drawback is the body of the flamewheel isn't completely opaque to RF, so if you go with 5.8ghz, you'll want to get the video transmitter antenna away from the body of the aircraft..

Otherwise, the autopilot modes of the Naza make learning so much easier and safer. And cheaper because you don't crash nearly as much etc....

I don't see any ground station, it's possible he may have been flying autonomously via pre programed waypoints in which case he does not need a LRS. I send my penguin out 4 to 5 miles using waypoints all the time and just record using the gopro and and watch with my 1.2/1.3 ghz 1 watt video system to just sit back and watch the flight.

pilot is wearing goggles!
Fellas, look closely! There is no station. the guy is seating on a stool in the middle of the buildings on the walkway with goggles on!

Look closely at 0:00 on take off and at the end he comes back to his position at 7:36

That is one sweet setup!

Wow...Had to be pushing two miles for a long time.

I wonder if he has a OSD or HUD...Looked like he went out a couple miles and turned to skate the outside limits.

Surely has an OSD.

I literally never use the word literally right.
