I am somewhat a NEWBEE to Helis. flown RC airplanes for 20 years off & on. I would like something BIG enough that I can SEE Outside & big enough parts and screws that I can SEE and HOLD when in need of REPAIR.
The 450 size HELI has a lot to choose FroM & prices are not too BAD & lots of Clones ! Right NOW my Budget is $350.00 not a lot of cash = but thats what the WIFE has OK ! I was looking on web & found at Helipal.com
they have a STORM 450 carbon fiber Premium Edition RTF for $350, looks to have alot of HIGH DOLLAR UPgrades on it. AnyOne have any dealings with THEM & have any Ideas or Suggestions on what to buy with my BUDGET?

thanks for your time

fwiw..

Did a little looking....Looks like an ok clone of the V2 T rex....
If the parts are decent, should be a good flyer....
Big question i have is about the electronics....I think you will lock yourself into this model as the Tx may not be compatible with "Name Brand" rx....
If that is not an issue for you, it looks ok...As long as parts are available.

Good Luck!

John.

Another Choice maybe.

Pickup a Trex 450 Sport Clone Chassis off e-bay for around $65.00, I got one pretty good quality. Then pickup some good hitec 65mg servos from the classifieds here. Along with, either a JR3500g tail servo, or a Futaba 9650. And pickup a gyro, motor and ESC from e-bay, or Valuehobby, along with a lipo charger and a lipo. And you should still have enough to buy a good dx6i, and rx from the classifieds, for your budget price. You don't want to skimp on servos, and radio.

We can guide you for the best quality for the money, and saving's route if you chose to do so.

I would look for a used Trex 450. Look at the pics and ask seller questions. Look at their gallery and there old posts to see if they inquired about any issues regarding the heli for sale.

You can also go all used from the classifieds and save a ton.

I'm starting to think I may even sell my Blade 450 3D...If I did(and I'm not saying I am)...it would go for around $75 and just need a receiver and radio.

Can't sell mine right now because I crashed it and have parts enroute.
It would have to be fixed and flight tested before I could sell it.

But there are deals like it to be had.
Shop around some...20 years of planking should have built the patience needed to shop for a week.

I literally never use the word literally right.

I'll second that...I've saved a bunch buying NIB high end stuff that was unneeded by the original purchaser, and you can save more buying used. Take a little time and you can make your $350 go a long way.

Blade 500 3D RTF
If you can squeeze another $50 into your budget, you can get a brand new Blade 500 3D RTF. It comes with everything including a DX6I DSMX radio, battery and charger. Mine flies awesome, very smooth and stable if you leave the flybar weights on it.

Here's a few pics of mine, I moved the rear cyclic servo into the frames so that I can make the canopy narrower:

Nice job with the list and right under budget Mckrackin- he should have no problem getting into this side of the hobby with help like this on runryder. The classifieds on here are truly a goldmine if you know what you are looking for Rckadetguy. I 2nd the opinion, and cannot stress enough, the importance of starting with quality electronics that will not only allow you to grow as your skills improve, but save you lots of headaches you don't need during your learning process. Good luck man!

that 500 3d from blade is a sweet little heli for what you are looking for, rtf, carbon frames, good servos, everything on it is of decent quality, have a couple guys at the field bought them and they fly really good. plus the blade helis aren't to expensive on parts, readily available, good radio, cant beat the price either,
McCrackin did some good work there to, either way cant go wrong

Any time you see something backordered anywhere...go to eBay.
Things are always in stock at some eBay store.

Gonitrohobbies is my favorite.

I know you said $350 is your budjet, but i would save another couple of bucks and get a larger sized (600 or better) preowned heli. there are deals out there you just have to be on the lookout and pull the trigger first. Go back a couple of pages and view classifieds for packages that have not yet sold and make a offer. The way i see it, if someones bird has not sold in months, they might be willing to take some $$$ off for a sure sale.
good luck
