I just picked up a new iCharger 308 but can't get it to charge. I keep getting a 2400 error telling me the balance voltage is too low. When I look at the voltage it does appear that the total voltage listed for the balancer is just over 1 volt less than the total voltage reported on the main input. I have tried 4 different batteries as well as multiple paraboards and the included balance connector. All report the voltage 1 volt low. The charger came with v2.09 installed which I think is the latest. Did I get a dud charger?

If it matters all the packs I tried are 6s.

I have had a couple of "blips" with the 308. It seems to happen when the charger is powered at the field for some time. I usually don't unplug the charger from the power supply if I'm not charging. I let it sit until I'm ready to charge again. When the charger has sat while powered I put a battery on it and get an error. I don't remember the exact error but when I remove power and power up again it has worked.

I have also just learned that the USB power output on the back of the charger will only charge an old Blackberry phone and not my new iPhone 5. I don't understand that one.

I would contact the place you purchased the 308 from to see what they will do about replacing it for you. Or if you have a good DMM you can calibrate the charger yourself by following the instructions in the manual.

Jeff you can thank apple for your iPhone 5 not being able to be charged by the 308 duo, the iPhone is looking for resistance on certain terminals before it will let the phone start charging. It is just apple being different.

Yeah that figures that Apple would do that.

Should you really have to calibrate a new charger?

No Jeff you should not have to calibrate a new charger, however the alternitive is to send it in and wait a couple of weeks to get it back. If you live in the north part of the US you don't have too many good flying days left this year before weather gets to bad to fly. The calabration process should take less the 10 minutes. I think that I think I would spend the 10 minutes and calibrate the charger.

I may do that with mine and see if I have any issues. I haven't had any problems lately.

We have great weather up here in Seattle in the winter, only 9 months of drizzle.

So I'm having the same issues with my 308. Its brand new after being replaced. My prior units ribbon cable failed and shorted against the board inside the unit. Not happy

As soon as I hook up a lipo it get an "error connection" flashing on the screen. It displays the voltage and voltage of each cell which is different by almost 1v.. everything else looks normal. I have update/reload the latest firmware, tried numerous batteries and nothin..

308 Duo
ADHD,

Are you using the balance board that came with the charger?

I don't have my 308 with me to see how they are marked, but on mine, I get an error if I don't have the balance tap plugged into the FIRST jack of the row.

Hello.
Have the same problem with my 308.
Which variant did you choose to solve the problem? Calibrating or change to other? May be something else?

I just calibrated it taking a good reading on each individual cell with a Fluke Meter and then plugging the battery in and calibrating it to the voltage I recorded on paper for that cell.

Its BS for that process to have to be done on a new charger, but the alternative was to send it back and wait.

I didn't have access to a quality DVM so I had to return mine for an exchange.

That seems odd that there are so many failures with the 308. I bought the 4010 when it was first released and I only remember reading about 1 having an issue. I'm sure there was more than 1 problem, but i could only find the 1. I have seen 3 issues just on this thread about the 308 and probably about 10 other places. I would have thought that there would be the same or even less issues with this one since they have had some time to see the issues from the 4010 since launch. I am wondering if they used cheaper materials/processes to make the 308 to get the price point down. Hopefully all of the issues will be sorted without too much issue. Good luck to everyone having problems. If the charger is truly like the 4010 you will definitely be impressed. My 4010 is in my top 3 best purchases for this hobby.
