I was scanning through the for sale ads on here and Heli Freak and saw a Trex 700N DFC for sale. He had pics posted and I was looking at the servos and frames and it looks like the old frames so how is it DFC. I thought that if the heli was a DFC heli that the swash was connected directly to the servos, not to pushrods to a bellcrank and then to the swash. So how do they say that it is a DFC heli when from what I have read and seen its clearly not. I looked at the 700E DFC and it has the servos connected straight to the swashplate. You guts tell me what im missing here.

Trying not to put them in the dirt.

I have seen plenty of helis listed as DFC lately that are not the latest model. The DFC head swap is fairly easy on the older models so I think the heli's specific version (pre-mods) should be specified. The buyer should also do some close inspection of the pictures so they know exactly what they are getting.

It is easy for some people to spot the subtle differences between all of these v1s, v2s etc in Align's line up but I can see how easy it would be for a newcomer to end up with a heli he didn't think he was getting.

DFC has nothing to do with servo to swash links. It has to do with swash to blade grip links.

The first pic is a DFC style head.

This pic is a traditional style head.

Hope this visual helps.

Disagree.
There is a DFC head you can put on any TREX, and there are a E and N model "DFC" helis which not only have the head, but also revised frames.

Probably better to refer to them as V3, not DFC since they are the V3 of the heli and people have put the DFC head on older models. Then there are people like me who have the newest V3 heli and get rid of the DFC head. So what would mine be called? It says DFC on the canopy, has the DFC frames etc, but has the KDS SXT head.

Only the electric version has direct to swash. The new nitro dfc kits are still the bellcrank setup.

DFC and direct to swash are two different things.

ok I understand that the electric and nitro are setup a little different but how can you say that a direct to swash is not DFC. That is what was told to me and I have read that it is. This makes no sence to me at all. So what you are saying is that if I put some fancy metal links from swash to head I can call my heli DFC cause thats what it looks like they did.

You're not getting it.

DFC is a rotor head type. It has no swash driver.

Trex Nitro DFC has bell cranks and a DFC head.
Trex Electric DFC has a DFC head and DTS servo set up.

I literally never use the word literally right.

DTS...Direct to swash is referring to the linkages from the servo to the swash plate.

DFC...Direct Flight Control is referring to the linkages from the swash plate to the blade grips...The pitch links double as a swash driver.

Both the E and N have DFC heads...Only the electric has DTS.

I literally never use the word literally right.
