Hi,
I recently tried to update my JR XG8 to the latest firmware using a 128mb SD card from my spektrum dx8. I formatted the SD card and followed the video released by JR but mine was stucked in the "do not remove battery" screen for more than 30 mins. In the video it should take about a minute. I then decided to turn it on and off, until it died.
Anyone can help me with this one? any solution without sending to the manufacturer?
thanks a lot..

I'm afraid your right it will have to go back. I just did some googleing around and many people have had to send theirs back due to a failed update.

And I'll add, it's not your fault, from what I understand the part of the radio that does the update just failed. Think the radio is fine till it try's to update, then that part fails. One has no way of knowing till this point.

That function should have been tested several times at the factory...before it ever shipped!

Just an update, I got my radio from Japan working now and updated with the latest firmware. They've sent me stickers but I paid for the courier charge which is about 50usd. I will never try to update my radio again.

Chicoseye,
Thanks for posting this, I was gonna try to update mine, but now that I know there may be complications I'm just gonna leave it like it is!

Lesson learned, I heard someone says "if it works fine then leave it as it is.."

I will never try to update my radio again.
And what will happen in the future? Isn't a firmware update inherent to these types of radios every so often?
