Hello guys

A friend of mine wants to convert his thunder tiger G4 nitro to electric E720. He has been flying it since 3 or 4 months now but wants to convert this machine into electric.
Can anybody give some detailed information about the requirements.
1.What motor to use ? (tell about the motor which can be used in a goblin 700 afterwards)

Lastly it it worth spending on this conversion?

The conversion is relatively simple And doesn't take a ton of parts. Also I recommend the scorpion 4525 520kv ultimate motor as well as the castle 160 speed control mine runs great with a ton of power.

Agreed the conversion is straight forward and you only need a few parts:

Lower Frames
New front landing gear mounts
Battery Tray
Battery Tray mount set
Motor Mount
pinion
pinion Bearing support (go with the one with two mounting bolts)

I don't have my manual with me for the part numbers, but I think the conversion is less then 100 bucks. I agree on the motor Scorpion 4520 520kv and cc160 controller or equivalent. We are running both are 720 on smaller 470 and 500 kv motors and they still fly with lots of authority and pop.

We actually switch one of our G4 from electric back to nitro a few times this year. It takes about 1 hour to swap the parts around. Some times you just want longer flights when you are practicing stuff. The only down side is that the models seems to bleed nitro residue for a few weeks after converting back to electric no matter how well you clean it.

E720
I have 2 and love them. One with Kontronik 120/KDE 495. Other with 4525-520 CYE Ultimate/CC160HV.

This is the smoothest heli at our field....Has power and speed. A little costly on parts if you plan on meeting the grass on a regular basis. But my primary heli.

The KDE has more torque, the Scorpion is a screamer.

I also love my NITRO machines.... Why the change??

A friend of mine called Amainhobbies, and they already had a list with all the part numbers ready for someone wanting to do the conversion. Motor, ESC & so on down to the last bolt. You can tell them what motor & ESC you want to go with, to make it a package deal. I don't think they have a listing for everything, so I think you'll have to call them.
