Hey Rich, yes this is a v1. I would have liked to have a v2 but I had a good deal in this one! I also don't mind the extra work on the v1(tail swap and doors.)

How did you guys procede to cut the doors? Which tool? I am a bit woried to screw up on that one hehe

Thank you
Billy

Even though I sold my 407 awhile back, I still keep an eye on this thread. That project developed a still lasting friendship with the chief pilot of the AZ DPS. Now he calls me anytime he has to ferry one of their 407's post maintenance back to its base. Last week I went with him on a flight from Phoenix to Flagstaff. Next month they're taking delivery of a new 429 and I'll be starting a model of that one as well.

Buy a hot knife. I got mine at Hobby Lobby for about $20.
It makes nice clean thin cuts. Take your time making deeper cuts until you cut thru the glass. Don't leave the knife in one spot too long as it does get hot

Hey guys long time since I've been posting on here! But just wanted to post that I'm going to sell my Marvel craft 407 superscale one off build if any one is interested in a one of a kind 407 with a articulated cockpit with all flight controls move with the heli flight control. I had a minor mishap last year with it where I strip the plastic tail drive gear and had a rough landing but has 4 small cosmetic issues. But Pm me if interested.

Hey Ed

I see you you are back on here. When you sell that 407 are you going to pay me the money for the KA 32 you stole off me?

It's not a 407 but it's going to be my next project. AZ DPS took delivery of their new Bell 429 today.

I don't like their new scheme either.

I made my own NCPD 429 since the colors were close to their older 407s

Thanks Rich and Stan.
Yes, I will bring it to Dalton. Emile is modifying the mechs for me with a clutch and different mechanical setup so it may not be flying by then. But he is trying to get them done

429 thread
Emile I think you're right about starting a 429 thread. I will add some pics of my build on it since even though it's a prepainted fuse I have been brave and doing mods to the fuse inside and out. Just have to be careful with the hot knife LOL
