Unfortunately I had a relapse of the bronchitis and ended up back at the doctors on Friday. So nothing done this weekend on the 407 as I was on bed rest most of the weekend.
But when Angie wasn't looking I snuck into the shop with Emile to look at the status of my projects then I did a little organizing and cleaning. Then I pooped out and went back to bed

Well Roy hope you get better soon, I made a new set of skids for my bird as I have finally made up my mind as to what helicopter I am going to model mine after, which is San Diego's new 407 gx, which doesn't have the floatation skids. I needed to make a new set anyways as I dropped my bird and bent the skids. I've been trying to find scale parts for my model but it is impossible to find in stock parts for scale models.

thanks DJ!

I have a Vario Long Ranger that I picked up from Marc at Dalton two years ago. I was thinking of the old San Diego color scheme as it looks sweet. As Ed said, please post some pics of their GX so we can check it out!

Looking forward to Dalton and I'm coming sick or not

yep, that is the new scheme and is gorgeous.

I am going with the old scheme since mine is a Long Ranger as opposed to the 407.

Ed,
Blades are tough to find, also workable hinges are impossible to get from vario so I'm gonna use those that came with my kit whick seem pretty good.

Thats what i used on mine was the hinges that came with the kit but i used 00-90 bolts and nuts to keep the hinges working smooth and tight.
Here are a few shots of my hinges on the doors and cargo hatch the two vario hinges i had used the to make the side steps on the outside the fuselage.

I get mine from Joe at east coast vario. I just received 3 packs from him this past monday. I love useing that window trim on all my helis it makes the windows install much easier. Heres how my 407 came out with that trim.

Reached a mile stone stone today...well it is for me at least. All my mechanics are fitted and wood epoxied in, TT in and TR set up. Got a slight forward mast lean, which I had to do since I re positioned my tail boom with a slight upward tilt to the rear. Its not 5 degrees but it is something. Everything fits well so now I can get started on the fuselage. Gonna start forming my GX style cockpit doors tonight. Few questions tho...What size (pulling force)magnets do you use for the doors and dog house? What lighting system can I use, I'd like to get the flash pattern used on the SDSO 407 which looks like a 4 flash strobe on the horizontal stabs with red and green nav, not sure if a lighting kit like this exists. Pics to follow in the morning. May take a road trip to Dalton this year but I don't think I'll be finished with my 407.

Thanks Guys
