Hey guys,

I am dry fitting everything. I'm planning on testing the mechanics way before installing them permanently in the fuse. I want the mechanics fitted before I start detailing the fuse. I will fly the mechanics testing each of the components as I detail the fuse and cockpit. Using 1/8 ply to build my platform, trying to not add too much weight to this helicopter. Ed the tail rotor you suggested is the one I got.

Hey Edward
Been on the road again so have a few weeks before I hit the road again.
Lost my dog last week to poison and I never knew it could hurt so bad. It took the wind out of my sails for sure.
We still have His younger brother who also got sick but survived.

I will get back on the 407 in the next week or so.

Take care.

Hey Rich yes I did get it and already have it together and did a flight with it this morning and already crash too the battery for the servos fell out and she drop like a brick but only damage was the blades main and tail. Not a big deal thats why u fly the mechanics till they r perfect before they go in the fuse I order a new set of mains and have plenty on tail blades so it will be up by next week

Well the 407 blades were going on the 109 I have a set of 650 mm thin core blades that I have on order and I getting the 109 set with its new blades and during the fight the flight pack for powering the servos fell off and the helis weight thru it into full negative pitch and it slammed the ground flat and hard but the esc didnt stop for a full second after I lost power so on the ground the blades were still spinning fast and the mechanics started leaning to the right and backwards that the blades kept slapping the deck and the tail blades just ate themself up. But nothing else was broken so I just finish doingba test flight using a set of 600mm wood blades and it flew good and smooth. So tomorrow ill order a set of blades to the 109 and all will be goodedward lopez sanchez

Guys speaking of blades, I've looked around for blades any suggestions on where to get them? Looking at 680mm thin chord blades for my 407.

Dj be careful just because the helu is a 700 size dosent mean u use 700 size blades? Keep in mind on a standard heli with 2 blades the tail size can usually handle the torque of the main blades but with 4 blades ur doubling the torque of the rotor head and even with standard 700 size tail blades wont be enough to hold the tail. A rule of thumb when doing muitlly blades u want to go alittle smaller on the main blades in length I would say not go over 660 mm blades cause the tail wont be able to hold agance the torque of 4 large blades. My self and Rich we upgraded to 115 mm tail blades to hold very well for blades up to 660mm with noproblems. But going bigger either u will need bigger tail or go with a 4 bladed tail and that wont be scale. As for blades theres are a few good choices im using rotor tech thin core scale blades and smart models thin core scale blades or spin blades, those are what I have used I know others will chim in on other blades too.edward lopez sanchez

ive been running 660mm blades on my 407 and they fly great but the tail blades ive been using weren't holding very well due to the lower headspeed ive been running. I like to run the lowest headspeed I could get away with for scale effect so I made a set of 130mm tail blades and now the yaw issues seemed to have gone away.drive a rotary, fly a rotorcraft

Well guys I have finally started my 407 here are a few pics. I've had time today to actually work on it at work.

Nothing is glued in just tacked for the time being while I set everything up. I will be cutting out holes in the wooden riser to lighten it up some. I'll be adding a stiffener plate in the middle and at both ends to strengthen things up and those will also have holes cut in them.
