Roy,
Hinges look fantastic. What did you use ? If you are planning on painting them on the fuse be careful as the paint could mask all the detail.

I've got that same spot light on my 206. I'll find a couple of pics and post.

I used doll house door hinges at Hobby Lobby. they come in two sizes. I bought the smaller ones.

I made a cut in the fuse with my hot knife, then used a small file to open up the hole squared. I then inserted the hinges from the inside and glued.

your spotlight looks good!

Shapeways has a Spectrolab spot light that is incredible. Not sure if you can get in our size though.

Few pics of the finished tail modification. I'll wait to fiberglass the rotor side until I get the mechanics figured out.

been adding more detail to my 407.
since this one will be modeled after the Puerto Rico Police 407, I am installing a FLIR and searchlight.
The searchlight has some support panels where it bolts to teh fuselage so I built those from pastic card and installed. One side is cleaned up a bit and need to do the other side. once rivets and other details are added it should replicate that part fairly well I think.

Let me know if you want help with that FLIR. Those photos you sent were a huge help for the mounting bracket.

thanks flsurfer, if I need help I will yell
yours came out very nice indeed. If we were closer I'd buy you a six pack to make me a copy

I'm gonna finish making panels etc before I move to the FLIR and searchlight mounts. I've been thinking everyday about how to make the searchlight mount since its a piece of flat metal bent into a almost squared U-shape with angles on the real one. I will probably use a thin cardboard to cut templates to shape until I get it right.

You could mold one out of modeling clay or urethane foam, then glass over it to create a mold. Once dry remove mold and add glass. Let it harder then remove. Then let the grinding and sanding begin. I understand this may not be the easiest, but its a method I use. Just my 2 cents.

Hey 206. Exhaust duct looks good. What technique did you use, or is it just the type of paint ?
