Looks great bud, now get it in paint! I know what you mean, my 300 flies so well that I don't want to take it apart. I have this 407 kit in the attic, just waiting to be built. What mechs did you use in this build?

Looks good Emile just wounding what u were running, a 6s or 12s system and what size battery are u running. And what headspeed r u running when flying. I was planning on starting my MC 407 this month with my stretch trex 600 that is still 6s system. And wanted to know how ur setup is running.

thanks guys,
I am using a century predator with a 325KV motor running on 12S. my mentor Darrell says to run 12S and forget about it so I did. I have 2 6S batts at 2650MAH and get about 8 mins. as for headspeed.................I have no idea but it sounds right, doesn't scare the crap out of me, the batts and esc are barely warm and it looks cool I am not very scientific or technical when it comes to that, I am still old school and set things up by sight, sound and feel.
anyway I am running the century diamond 4 bladed head with the funkey 660mm glass blades which doesn't seem to mind if its windy.
Ed, I love the scheme you are planning, will be very easy to see.
unfortunately, Alabama state police has a dark shceme on their 407 but I will have to get used to it

Looks like the MC 407 is a popular subject right now. I'm just getting started on mine which is painted after the units used by the AZ DPS.

Emile, Darrell's right 12S in a scaler just runs like a Swiss watch, the motor doesn't work hard, pulls very little amps and runs in it's sweet spot. If you give me your gear ratio, I'll give you a ballpark head speed for your heli. I'll be flying my 407 on 12S too, just haven't figured out the mechs yet...

seems everyone is going for mechs that allow a full cabin, I don't care much if I cant have a full cabin altho I am designing one for my ec145 I am doing next as well as my s-76. a fully clutched system of course.
I will get some video of my 407 next chance I get and post.

flyawayed,
As Emile and Barry have said... do yourself a favor and run 12S. On a stretch 600 you are going to shoot for 1400 HS on a multiblade.

Emile,
Nice looking bird...as Barry said...Paint, Paint!

OK I'm In!!!!
MAYBE if enough people post on here to get it painted Emile might just begin to feel the pressure (in the compressor!!!)and spill some paint on this heli!!!!! (I left out the Naked part since George sounded like he might be getting a little excited!!!)

EMILE, Just Repeat After Me.....

I WILL BEGIN PAINTING IT and again, and again!!!!

cool, its nice to see all the 407's out there that are done or in progress, sort of a fan page/thread.
222, I like your 407, I love helis with floatbags on the skids. unfortunately, my fullsize subject isn't equipped but I did make a second set for mine that will have the floatbags and will fly it only outside a contest.
