they emailed me back and flat out said no. that the muffler was used on a gas helicopter and all gas helicopters have vibration.
I guess it was designed for electric heli's

I didnt know they were still in business

Setup is everything, All my heli's can fly far better than I can pilot them

I would have had to say" Well yes it was used on a gas engine, you made it for that purpose".

I would go directly to Paul [or whom ever is the top dog there] and get the real poop.....300 bucks for a badly welded muffler and you are just outa luck? BS! call them and report back.I wouldnt take that crap . These mufflers are made in China and the profit margin IS HUGE for these guys in America!!! Let people know what they say and report back to us. Make a BIG STINK!!!! That is one big reason for this and any forum.

turboomni,

I called century today. I got a lady and asked to speak to Paul. she said he is no longer employed there. I then asked to speak to a manager. she said I would have to speak to her. I told her about the problem with the UAV gas muffler. she said the problem is my helicopter. I then told her that I have 2 other century mufflers that I have been flying for years and asked her why they are doing fine and the baffles have not come loose. she then put me on hold and would not pick up again. I pitty the people that fly their helicopters.

I had exactly the same experience with Century Torque, I'm done with them forever. Even threw the pipe away just to end my aggravation with their customer service. Never again. And it takes a lot for me to say that..

After seeing and hearing Torque's muffler I'm not going to buy a Century, the way I see it is I can spend more and have good service or buy those problems over and over.

Oh yeah, me too
I had trouble and warranty issues with Century before as well, one time I had to call SIX times in 1 day to get through to someone, the chinese lady kept putting me on hold for 20 minutes and then they would pickup and hangup like a second later.

Finally when I got irritated and demanded to speak to management, they said "management doesn't want to speak to you".

OK, way to go for customer service and that was the end of that.

torque ,,this sucks and I am sorry this has happened to you. It is good you called to find out what they really are all about. Paul gone ? I do not find anything surprising with Century. Their track record is amongst the poorest in the industry. Go to the Century forum here and elsewhere and let your feelings be known. Loosing 300 bucks for no reason would infuriate me no end.You could save a few from the same fate at least if your problem is well known to as many people as possible.

the adjustable restricter also used(or was) in street racing back in the day.
adding backpressure improved fuel mileage and decreasing let out the HP. why bother unless your trying to save gas?

with all the tech. knowledge out there it would seem some one could make a nice, quite, power muffler, at a nice buy. it seems from what I have read on here, everyone liked the v2 century gas muffler.
