Hi Peter, the pricing is the only drawback. It's $25ish for 12 inch lengths. But if you compare it to the cost of most of the vario shafts, it's worth it.

OF head and blades
Hi Eveyone, My last visit to Peter on news years day was a event in its self, with the bad weather, but had a good day with Peter making up a new main shaft as said in his post. Now the head is machanically phased and set up, because im not an experienced flyer should i go for a stabilisation unit or try first?
If to buy what do you guys think would be the best buy? Peter suggested a V-Bar or i was looking at the Bavarian Demon 3sx 3 Axis Gyro Or? Thanks

IMHO, you can't go wrong with Vbar. From day one they have always been the INNOVATORS of FBL flight, not the IMMITATORS

They're all good, but the latest is the grey sensor sat ready unit. The latest firmware is 5.3 and you'll definitely want the PRO firmware upgrade. It's $45 US, but well worth it, as it allows you to phase the swash timing electronically. You can pick up a blue sat ready unit with pro already installed in the forum at a good price. From what I have read, they work well with turbines. I only fly e-power, so this is second hand advice. I will tell you this, I run a separate voltage regulator on all of my larger scale helis. This takes the high amperage demands of high torque servos away from the Vbar power bus. I have never had any issues, it's just for insurance. You can also run the Vbar on direct 2S (7.4V)lipo if you choose.

V-Bar Silverline 5.3
Guys, will this unit take my 4 servo set up? Someone said you will have to do away with the 4th servo.

It will do 4 servo 90 and you will need to upgrade it to pro software to get the phasing control.

As Peter stated, it will do 4 servo 90. It can also be used with 3 servo 90, by omitting the 4th servo from the set up. I'm flying my Vario 300 this way. I would definitely upgrade to Pro firmware and do your phasing electronically. This will give you the best geometry from the swash to the head and eliminate any possible binding in the links. Plus Pro allows you to custom taylor many more flight parameters.

V-Bar controller
Has anyone used the V-Bar hand controller
Blurb said saves taking computer to flying field, that in itself would be a benefit

I had one and I sold it. I prefer to have a screen that my old eyes can see. Just load the app on a Android tablet and take that to the field.

V-bar
Ok it arrived today, loaded software and upgraded to pro, my question is all of my electronics are fitted to my mechanics , can I start setting up on the bench or will I have to install mechanics into fuse? The reason I'm asking is that my main shaft is tilted fwd, do I have to level to set up?
Many thanks

Morning, Had a good weekend on the EC 135, fitted machanics to fuse, moved the v-bar sensor to cockpit floor as requseted by Rainer Vetter who is sending me the xxx extreme firmware from V-Bar, fitted Fenestron blades and checked pitch, also ran up turbine,1st start since back from Germanay all good., Its nearly there, just doors and front glazing, pilots, scale fittings to install.

No problem setting the Vbar up on the bench. All of the swash leveling and other functions can be set up there. Put the sensor on a solid part of the mechs and go from there. The sensor will always sense level to whatever surface you initialize it from.

That's true, you should avoid locating it near moving parts that run at high RPM. But for the purpose of setting it up, it just needs to be somewhere flat in the mechs, then you can move it to the fuse floor when you install the mechs.
